In the 28th century AD, human civilization rose amidst the endless sea of stars. After centuries of expansion and civil war, the Federal Empire finally unified all directions. However, just as humanity began to enjoy a brief peace, the brutal invasion of alien insects plunged the entire galaxy into a baptism of blood and fire. As humans exhausted all efforts to resist the swarming insects, a more technologically advanced race-the Protoss-suddenly appeared.
