The Dark Knight of Mobius: Volume One

One month after the corruption, downfall, and death of Sonic the Hedgehog, the Freedom Fighters are barely hanging on to New Mobotropolis by a thread against Snively Robotnik. The two most qualified people to lead the Freedom Fighters, Miles "Tails" Prower and Sally Acorn, are still struggling to cope with Sonic's death, and in Tails' case, the guilt born from having been the one who dealt Sonic the killing blow.

Dark times are encroaching upon Mobius once more. The time has come for a new hero to rise from Sonic's ashes to help push back against Snively's forces, and become the protector of Mobius and its people.

After using Chaos Control without his inhibitor cuffs to stop the Space Colony ARK from falling, Shadow the Hedgehog finds himself in an alternate world where he doesn't exist and Sonic was killed in action. Deciding to embrace the clean slate he's been given, the Ultimate Lifeform resolves to make good on his promise to Maria, rising above the sins and demons of his past to become the hero that Mobius and its people need, finding love and real friendship in the process.
