chapter twelve | big time jobs

Rosalie seemed to be on a large high in energy. After officializing the relationship between Juliette and Dak, the two had decided to go public on it and had been met with nothing but support. Especially since their new song was released, the fans shipped the two celebrities more than ever. While Rosalie would have wanted her first boyfriend in Los Angeles to be one for herself and not Juliette, she was happy no matter what.

Which is why when she was offered the position of holding and presenting the Palm Woods 500 World Cup alongside Katie, who was judging, for the guy's racing competition - she didn't decline and instead happily agreed. This reasoning is why Rosalie now stood in 2J in a pink blouse with a dark green emerald jacket and a green sparkly dress with black and golden patterns, paired together with a pair of black heels and her hair down in waves. The homemade championship cup was in her hands as she stood by the door with Katie, watching as the guys warmed up.

"Okay, the first to race around the Palm Woods and ring the bell at the front desk," Kendall quickly explained, "wins the Palm Woods 500 invitational all terrain decathlon classic."

James interfered, "And super champion of the world."

"And wins the Palm Woods 500 World Cup." Katie announced, gesturing to Rosalie who proudly held up the large championship cup. Immediately, Logan and Carlos pointed at the cup as they shouted in unison, "It will be mine!" Which had led to a small fight between the two.

Katie rolled her eyes at the two before nodding for Rosalie to step back. Once the blonde did so, Katie reached over to begin opening the door, "On your marks. Get set. Go!"

The four boys raced out of the apartment with Katie and Rosalie following behind. The two girls calmly made their way to the elevator and entered in order to be downstairs before the four guys for Katie to decide who wins. As the silence consumed them, Katie looked up to the older girl and raised an eyebrow.

"I heard the news." Rosalie hummed in confusion, glancing down at Katie and tilting her head in confusion. "About Juliette and Dak. I'm happy for you."

Rosalie smiled softly, "Thanks. I'm happy too."

The bell to the elevator dinged and the doors opened up, leading to the lobby. The two girls exited the small compartment and weaved past the few people who had made the lobby their talking space and went to stand near the front desk. They waved innocently at Bitters before turning to be on the lookout for the four guys.

"Remember - if he messes up just let me know. I have contacts."

A laugh escaped the blonde's lips, "Don't worry. You'll be the first to know. But, hopefully we don't have to face that situation."

Hearing the shouting coming from the pool area, Katie and Rosalie shared a glance as they realized that the guys would shortly be there. Not even seconds later, the four were rushing into the lobby and sprinting for the front desk's bell. They all jumped for it and over the counter, taking Bitters with them as the five all clashed to the ground roughly. Rosalie winced in pain at the sight. But it seemed not to affect the four as they immediately sprung up to look at the young Knight for the winner.

"It's Carlos!"

Carlos cheered in happiness as he jumped over the counter and Rosalie handed him the trophy. However, in the midst of his cheering, Bitters had also stood up and glared at the group.

"You are all going to pay for this!"

Rosalie sighed, "Oh no."
