chapter eight - part one | big time christmas

Christmas.

A joyous time of year for almost everyone in the world. While most people were able to travel home for Christmas and spend time with their family, there were those who had no family to travel to or were forced to stay to work. For Rosalie, it was both.

The blonde had been notified just the day prior that she would be performing at the Grand Christmas Festival on Christmas Day. This meant having to stay in Los Angeles for the holiday. Not that she had anywhere to go specifically. New York with her mother was kind of off limits due to certain circumstances while Texas with her father wasn't even an option as he would be spending the holidays in Tennessee with his girlfriend's family. Either way, Los Angeles would be the blonde's holiday destination.

Rosalie sighed as she looked in the large bag she was carrying. There were multiple gifts, which included one for each of the boys, Ms. Knight, Katie, Jo, Gustavo, and Kelly. She had given Camille her gift the day before as the brunette had come over to exchange gifts. The blonde was hoping to find at least the four boys in the lobby as she made her way to Rocque Records - knowing they could take Ms. Knight and Katie's gifts as well.

As the elevator doors opened, the blonde heard a familiar voice.

"Lucky day, I guess."

Rosalie glanced up and a soft smile played on her lips as she noticed James standing in front of her. He had a wrapped hockey stick in his hands that had mistletoe hanging off of it. James smiled, nodding to the plant before looking back down to Rosalie.

"You will have to work harder than that for a kiss on the lips. But, it is Christmas so you can get one of these." Rosalie reached up and placed a soft kiss on his cheek before pulling away from him. Although he wouldn't admit it, James felt a blush start creeping up on him from the small gesture. Rosalie sent him another smile before turning to the others who were there watching the scene with knowing smiles. "I have gifts for you all!"

Reaching into the large bag she was holding, Rosalie pulled out various boxes and handed them to each one of her friends. She placed two more gifts in the basket, explaining to Kendall that they were for his mom and sister. As she turned to hand Jo her gift, she paused and quickly turned around to face the four boys who seemed to be moments away from tearing away the wrapping of the boxes.

"Don't open them until tomorrow." Rosalie warned them, causing the four to huff. The blonde smiled before turning back to Jo and handing her the wrapped gift. Jo smiled gratefully as she handed Rosalie her gift. "That means you, too. Don't open it until tomorrow morning."

The two girls shared a hug before turning towards the boys who were all shaking the boxes in an attempt to get a hint at the contents inside. Feeling the gazes of the females, they quickly stopped and laughed nervously as Rosalie raised an eyebrow towards them. A moment of silence passed between the group before the guys started rummaging through the multiple bags they had acquired that morning. Carlos pulled out a Rockstar nutcracker and held it high proudly.

"Here's your gift, Rosie." Carlos said, handing her the item. "A Rockstar nutcracker."

The blonde took the gift carefully and laughed as she gazed it over. Glancing back up to the four boys, she smiled genuinely, "I love it. I'm going to name him Stan."

"Stan?"

"Is there a problem with the name?" Rosalie asked, crossing her arms. Almost immediately, the four boys denied it and started praising the name. Jo chuckled from beside the blonde at their reactions. "Good." Rosalie smiled. "Well, I need to head to Rocque Records before Gustavo leaves for his big Fiji trip. I have gifts for him and Kelly." She announced.
