CHAPTER FOUR:
Bitter Hatred

CALLISTO LESTRANGE WAS STILL FURIOUS WITH HER YOUNGER COUSIN. It turned out that the only reason the Slytherin Quidditch Team pulled out of the upcoming match was because Draco Malfoy had insulted a hippogriff and was attacked. Callisto saw the wound, and it was a scratch, and it had already fully healed after only two days.

The first snowfall of the winter came with the first trip to Hogsmeade, something that the Lestrange had been looking forward to. The Hogwarts grounds were now covered in a layer of the white snow that had fallen the night, the fresh snow crunching underneath Callisto's feet as she walked from castle to the village of Hogsmeade. She was so glad to finally have a change in scene, even if it was just for a few hours, but she sometimes became bored of being in the Hogwarts castle.

The Lestrange walked alone, watching the excited groups of third years who were itching to see the village. She remembered being that excited when it was her first trip to Hogsmeade, Lucius and Narcissa told her about the excellent butterbeer that the Three Broomsticks made and she went and got herself three whole glasses and drank every one of them. As nice as they were at the time, Callisto did regret it later, feeling sick from the amount of butterbeer that she had consumed. She never made that mistake again, only choosing to have one butterbeer the other times she had visited the small village.

Ever since finding out about Slytherin pulling out of the upcoming Quidditch match, Callisto hadn't spoken to Adrian, Marcus, or Draco. She was furious as she liked to play fairly and win properly rather than try to mess with the other teams or seriously and unnecessarily injure them. Callisto knew that Quidditch was a rough sport and that accidents happen, but deliberately trying to maim opposition players was not how she liked to play.

Estella had offered to spend the day with Callisto at Hogsmeade, but the Lestrange insisted that she went with the others. Callisto needed time to herself every now and again, but she also didn't want to get Estella in the middle of her feud with her teammates.

With Hogsmeade finally coming into view after fifteen minutes of walking that felt like an eternity through the snow, Callisto quickly decided that she would first go to Honeydukes before it got too busy. She desperately needed to restock her supply of sweets, and especially chocolate just in case she was affected by the dementors again.

She pushed open the door to the small sweet shop and a bell rang as she did so. Callisto noticed that there were a few third years that were already in the shop and looking around excitedly, well, at least until they saw her walk in. Some's eyes widened and others blanched at the sight of the Lestrange, watching her cautiously as if she could attack them at any given moment. Callisto snickered to herself at their behaviour before walking further into the shop.

She took her time searching the shelves for sweets that she would purchase. Callisto had already grabbed a packet of jelly slugs, a few liquorice wands and sugar quills, and a box of pepper imps. She also wanted a few blocks of chocolate and quickly spotted them on one of the higher shelves. The Lestrange had already reached up to grab a few blocks when another hand snatched it away. Callisto turned around to face the person so she could start yelling at them but was met by the grinning face of George Weasley.
