CHAPTER TWO:
Beware Dementors

CALLISTO WAS FURIOUS AND FEELING AS WEAK AND SHIVERY AS SHE DID CERTAINLY DIDN'T HELP HER FOUL MOOD. The Hogwarts Express had finally arrived at Hogsmeade Station after a long trip from London, and the Lestrange had never felt more relieved. Once she stepped onto the platform, a cool gust of wind blew and the rain came down heavily making her feel even colder due to her already clammy state. She heard Hagrid calling for the first years but was guided by Adrian through the crowd of students who were all in a rush to get out of the rain.

Callisto felt drowsy as she trudged down the muddy path towards the carriages, Adrian and Estella were constantly looking at her sideways, just checking in case she collapsed again. Ahead of the students were several carriages, most assumed they were charmed to move on their own, but Callisto knew that thestrals pulled them, she was one of the only ones that could see them as she had previously seen death, something that most of her peers had not seen.

The three Slytherins climbed into one of the many carriages, not bothering to wait for Marcus or Terence who were most likely chatting up some girl like they usually did. Adrian shut the door of the carriage behind him and Callisto saw the thestral start to walk up the muddy path towards the castle. The three Slytherins stayed silent for the short trip and Callisto had to fight to keep herself from dozing off. When the carriage finally came to a stop, Estella and Adrian had to shake her to get her attention and then practically drag her out of the carriage.

She then heard the delighted and smug voice of her younger cousin. "Potter, is it true you fainted? You actually fainted?" he drawled as he taunted the boy who lived. Callisto frowned, interested in the fact that she wasn't the only one who had been so badly affected by the dementors.

"Shove off, Malfoy," Ron Weasley said angrily as he tried to push past the blonde haired Slytherin. Estella and Adrian laughed at the situation happening infront of them but immediately stopped at the glares that Callisto sent them.

"Did you faint too, Weasley? Did the big, bad dementor scare you too?" Draco taunted some more, and this time Callisto decided to step in, despite seeing the world around her spin every now and again.

"Draco, shut up," the Lestrange attempted to say forcefully but it sounded somewhat slurred and as if she was half asleep, which she practically was. Despite her state, she didn't miss the concerned expression that immediately made it's way onto Draco's face. She felt two hands gently grip her shoulders from behind to steady her and she knew that it was Adrian.

"What happened to her?" Draco asked worriedly, Callisto sent a glare towards the three Gryffindors who were still standing there, watching the Lestrange who appeared to be intoxicated.

"The dementors, she passed out on the train," Estella explained and Draco's jaw dropped, now understanding why she had told him to shut up. Callisto then shrugged Adrian's hands off her shoulders and walked up the stone steps to the castle.
