~Chapter Ten~

Tommy couldn't sleep. He didn't know how long he and Tubbo had been stuck here but it felt like it had been months. He laid there, staring at the ceiling, thinking.

Then, he heard the raspy voice of Ghostbur and he jolted up. "Ghostbur?" he whispered. "Oh hello Tommy!" he heard as he saw Ghostbur walk into the room. "D-did you get Phil?" he whispered. "Yep! He said that he was going to go talk with Dream," Ghostbur said. "Make sure to keep your voice down, ok? If Dream hears us he'll be upset," Ghostbur smiled and nodded. Tommy paused. "Ghostbur, me and Tubbo need you to be like our messenger. Dream won't let us leave so we won't know what's happening so you have to keep us updated," Ghostbur nodded again. "S-so what's going on? I-in L'Manberg and everything," Tommy looked down at the floor.

"Well, they've started to rebuild L'Manberg! It looks very nice!" Tommy smiled. He wished that he could see it. "Oh! And Phil is going to go meet with Dream today! He says that he's going to try to get him to let you and Tubbo out!" Ghostbur told Tommy and he smiled. He might be getting out of here soon.

After a few more minutes, Ghostbur left and a little while later, Dream came in with the light. Today he seemed different though, Tommy couldn't tell what it was. It was almost a mix of excitement and fear.

Phil's POV
As Phil woke up that morning, he got dressed quickly, wasting no time. He grabbed some potions and his sword. He was furious with Dream. Tommy and Tubbo were both kids, and here he was, keeping them as hostages.

On his way out he saw Techno. He looked like he was about to say something but seeing Phil's mood, he kept quiet. He had never seen him this angry. As he walked to where he agreed to meet Dream, he thought about what he would do. If he just started attacking, that probably wouldn't work out the best.

As he got closer to where they would meet, he saw a figure wearing green with dirty blonde hair. They were sitting there, looking in the distance. They looked at peace with themselves.

"Dream," Phil said. "Hello," Dream said back. Phil could hear his smile even though he had his mask on. He sat down next to him. "Why, Dream? Why?" Phil said. It felt like all he could say.

"Why not?" Again, he could hear his smile. "They're just kids, Dream! Just let them go! They didn't do anything wrong!" Dream stopped. Phil could tell he was smiling. "Phil, you know that they ran away, right? You out of all people should think that they need a punishment. Now I'm not saying that this is that, no no no, this is, almost a gift for me,"

Phil was confused "What do you mean a gift? They're two kids that you're holding against their will!" This whole time, neither of them had looked at each other until Dream looked over at Phil. "How'd you find out about them being with me? I haven't told anyone," That's when Phil realised that Dream didn't know about Ghostbur yet. "Why would I tell you? That just wouldn't make sense now would it," Phil said as he smiled a little before continuing "Now why can't you just let them go home?" Phil asked. He really just wanted them to be safe and happy.

"Because, Phil, because I don't want to," Dream said. Phil looked at him and clenched his fists. He wanted to just grab his sword and start attacking him but he knew that it wasn't a good idea. "Well then, if you don't have anything else left to say, I'll be on my way out," Dream said, standing up.

"What do you want? What can I give you so Tommy and Tubbo can go?" Dream looked back at him. He stood there, thinking. "I'll think about it," he said before turning around and leaving. Phil sat there, head in his hands. He wanted Tommy and Tubbo to just be home and safe, wherever that was. Even if it was away from him and Wilbur and Techno. As long as they were safe and happy.

Tommy's POV
Tubbo had woken up a bit after Dream left after bringing the light. They sat there. They would've talked but there wasn't really much to talk about. Tommy had told him about what Ghostbur had said and it seemed to help make Tubbo a little happier. It was the hope that they would get out, even though they both knew that they most likely wouldn't. Deep down, they knew that they would be there for a while.
