I recently read a TodoDeku with death and grief was a plot point. I wouldn't say it's similar, especially considering the focus is different. I wanted to focus on the grief and anguish of loss felt by everyone whereas that one focused on the couple and the grief was very short-lived in that fanfic. It was just a plot point instead of the plot.
So, just be warned.Aizawa coughed, pulling himself to his feet. His ears rung painfully, vision blurry. The dust around him had just barely begun to settle.
His name was being called, but he could barely hear.
A bloodied Denki Kaminari was limping quickly to his teacher, shouting with tears in his eyes.
Aizawa groaned, covering his ears. "Kaminari... Slow down... Quiet, please..."
"I- I'm sorry sir, but- please! You have to come fast! Please, I-I can't get him out on my own!"
"Who..? Can't get who out?"
"Midoriya! Midoriya is stuck and me and Iida can't get him out!"
Aizawa grit his teeth. He couldn't hear or see anyone else. "Bring me to him."
Denki nodded and lead his teacher through the rubble. As Aizawa neared the edge of the disaster, he could hear the distant sirens and people shouting. Rubble was crumbling all around them.
The teacher could barely remember what even happened. Last thing he remembered, he was taking the three students to shop for groceries. Was there an attack? Did they fight the villains in the attack?
Once he reached the other two students, his gut wrenched painfully.
Tenya was attempting to pry a trapped wooden beam off Izuku's chest, Izuku's right arm and leg clearly being crushed in the rubble beside him.
Izuku gasped for breath, tears, blood and dirt streaking his face. Red pooled around him, eyes panicked and hazy.
Green lightning sparked weakly around him as he attempted to help Tenya.
Denki ran over immediately to help.
Aizawa grit his teeth and knelt beside Izuku's head, catching his attention. "Hey, hey. We're going to get you out of here and to the hospital, okay?"
Izuku sobbed, choking on the blood beginning to fill his throat. "A-Aizawa... Don't- don't let me die... I don't want-want to die..." He pleaded weakly.
"You're not going to die, problem child." Aizawa hissed as he got to his feet. "Kaminari. Kneel beside Midoriya and pull him out once we lift this rubble."
Denki nodded and dropped down beside Izuku's head, hooking his arms underneath his armpits.
Aizawa ushered Tenya away. "I'm going to use my scarf as a pulley to get this off. The beam will pry the rest off and Kaminari will be able to pull him out. Once he is out, grab him and run to the nearest help."
Tenya nodded firmly, watching as his teacher adjusted his scarf, looping it over a higher beam and around the beam trapping his friend. Aizawa tested the above beam, then adjusted his stance.
