Based off a book I am attempting to write
Wanted to play around with some ideas a little bit and am hoping this is a good way to do it...Looking for feedback :)
Also, no specific time line, just some random scenes between the two characters I had in mind.
Providing as much back story as I can so you guys don't get too lost :)
Just throwing in enough for you to understand without being too wordy"Ya know, freckles," the taller blond mused as he dropped onto the log beside me rather ungracefully. I so badly wanted to roll my eyes at his drunken smirk and pinch his pinkened cheeks. "Maybe your previous life will emerge if you start prayin'."
"Oh yeah?" I cocked a brow at him, crossing my arms and resting them on my knees. I watched as he sipped from his flask and flicked the long leather tails of his coat off the log. "What does a pirate know about praying, Katsuki?"
Snickering, Katsuki twisted the lid back onto his flask, carding his fingers through his hair. "Enough, freckles."
I rested my chin on my fist, turning to better face him. "What if I am not her?" A blond brow raised at me, but he stayed silent, waiting for elaboration. "You are the one who had pointed out my likeness to the Goddess. Because of that, we are running from the King. We are only assuming I am her reincarnation due to my likeness. So, what if I am not her? What if my previous life has not emerged because I am not her? And how do you even know my likeness to her is so similar?"
Red eyes darkened, sharp features hardening as Katsuki listened to me. In the short time I have known this man, I don't think I have ever seen him so serious. Is it because of what I said? Maybe it is the alcohol. Does he get serious when drunk? I would have to ask Eijirou, as he was Katsuki's travel companion well before we met those few weeks ago in the mountains.
Rough fingers pinched my jaw, causing me to flinch and gasp, but I did not break away. Fire burned in his crimson eyes as he seemed to stare straight into my very soul. It seems as though he wishes to pull the Goddess out of me by his pure willpower alone. His breath fanned over my face, my nose scrunching at the foul smell of alcohol, yet I could not pull away from him.
Despite all my grievances with this man - this pirate - he is very difficult to look away from.
Still, his looks alone will not distract me from getting the answers I am searching for.
"How do you know of my likeness to the Goddess? What if whatever painting you are going off of is inaccurate?"
His lip twitched and he flicked my chin away. Katsuki draped his arms over his knees, hunching forward and glaring into the fire. The chittering of his little companion caught my attention as Vermin clambered up Katsuki's back, batting at his hair with his colorful little wings flapping giddily. The poor little thing was opposite of Katsuki's demeanor at the moment, so he didn't fit in with the rest of the image I had before me. I took little Vermin and placed him in my lap to recieve happy chirps and nuzzles into my palm.
"Tis not a mere painting that I am comparing your likeness," Katsuki finally muttered, unwilling to look at me. There was a strange undertone to his voice I could not just ignore. A certain sadness I hadn't expected from the man beside me.
