Teamwork ( Chicago Pd One Shots )

General POV,
Takes place in season 8,
Burzek and Upstead are a thing, There is no covid.

"Come on! We're gonna be late"
Jay yells from downstairs.
It takes a couple of minutes but eventually Hailey quickly comes running down the stairs.

"Alright, alright. I'm ready" she says, putting on her jacket and shoes.
"Finally, we can go." Jay answers, earning an slightly annoyed look from Hailey.
"Sorry babe, let's go." He kisses her head and they go to the car, driving to the district.
When they get there, they can see that everyone else is already there.

For Christmas every year they all eat dinner together, and normally they go to restaurants but it would always be very chaotic to plan as it's always very busy. So this year they're doing it at the district.

When everyone is there, they go inside and go upstairs to see the whole place decorated and that there is a big table in the middle of the room.
The desks are all decorated as well but moved to the side as otherwise it would have been impossible to put that table there.

"Wait what? This is so cute!" Hailey exclaims
"Who did this tho?" Jay says, being kinda confused.
"Never heard of Santa Bro?" Adam says jokingly.
"Oh shut it Ruz, seriously who did this?"

No one knows the answer to that until Kim and Trudy high-five eachother.
"You two did this?" Voight asks and they nod in response

"You two did a hella good job" Kevin says
"Thanks Kev." Kim says and looks back at Trudy, both being very proud of how they did.

"Where's the food tho?"
"Oh wow, Adam Ruzek can't even think of anything that isn't food for just a moment" Jay says, getting playfully punched in the shoulder by Adam, which makes their girlfriends giggle.

"The food will be here within 15 minutes Adam" she says while everyone gets settled down at the table.

They talk for a while until he food arrives, and they happily eat.

When all of the food is gone, which doesn't takes that long, they start bringing up stories from the past.
Stories from work, but also from childhood and siblings.

"The older siblings are the smart ones" Jay says jokingly
"the younger one's are just stupid idiots"

"Ouch. That one hurt" Kim says, about to take a sip from her wine but Adam grabs it from her and puts the glass back down.
"Oh, sorry Kim"

"No no it's fine, but your wrong tho"
"What's that suppost to mean?"

"Well, Nicole is the oldest so she should be the smart one according to you.
But if she was smart she would've gone out of the way when I poured that paint on her when we were kids..."

"You did what now?" Kevin exclaims
"You heard me"
"Why'd you do it tho?" Voight asks
"Because I was mad at her as she pushed me out of the tree hours some hours before"

"...good reason" Trudy says
"Okay point proven" Jay says
Kim nods.

"You know I'm never gonna decorate with her ever again" Trudy says
"Why not?" Hailey says
"She's such a perfectionist."
"Oh trust me, we've known that for years now" Kevin and Adam say
"I can't help it!" Kim says in defence they all giggle a little.

"Is it in the family?" Jay asks and she nods in response
"Oof..."

"Talking about family.." Adam says which turns all of the attention to him, and he grabs Kim's hand in his

"Go ahead babe" he says to her
"Okay well... I'm pregnant again"

Loud screaming and cheering is heard and everyone hugged the two of them

"How far along are you?" Voight asks
"6 weeks"
"AND YOU KEPT IT A SECRET FROM US FOR SO LONG?!" Hailey says and they all laugh at her reaction
"Yup we did"
"Oh you just wait, I'm going to spoil that child so much. It's not gonna be good for him or her."

Everyone chuckles and the night continues, they have a lot of fun together and bring up some more secrets and funny stories.
