Shakingly Vanessa started her paperwork. She didn't feel well at all. She tried to cover her pale face with make up but that didn't work because she was sweating and the make up would come off. Everyone else was doing paperwork at their desks but she couldn't get started on it.

Some minutes later voight came out of his office, telling them they got a case.

"Rojas and Upton, your together. Go talk to the family.
Burgess and Atwater stay here and check the locations, Halstead and Ruzek you two go to the scene itself." Voight told his team.

Everyone gets ready to go do what they're told to do. Hailey and Vanessa get into the car and ride to the family.

"You good girl?" Hailey asked as she looked at Vanessa

"Yeah I'm fine I guess..." she aswerd her.

"Alright, if you say so." Hailey said and they drove to the family.

Around 30 minutes later, they got back to the car and start to drive back to the district.
Vanessa started to feel more and more nauseous, so she put her hand to her mouth and closed her eyes hoping it will go away.

Vanessa's new position grabbed Hailey's attention. She knew Vanessa would say she's fine if she asks so she went ahead and grabbed a plastic bag, handed it to Vanessa and looked at her.
Vanessa grabbed the bag from Hailey and looked back.

Suddenly she felt a wave of heat taking over her body and before she knew she grabbed the bag and threw up.
Hailey stopped the car on the side of the road and rubbed her back while holding her hair back.

Vanessa kept throwing up for a couple of minutes. Hailey kept comforting her until she was done.
Hailey let Vanessa's hair down when it was vomiting free.

"You okay now?" Hailey asked her as she gave her a tissue

"Yeah I guess so." Vanessa answers her while grabbing the tissue and cleaning her mouth
"Well I'll tell Voight your not feeling well and we'll get you home."
Vanessa only nods, realising how exhausted she is.

Hailey calls Voight, he agrees with Hailey and they go home.

When at home Vanessa falls asleep immediately and Hailey stays with her until she's better. They went to the doctor once and it turned out she had food poisoning.
She needs to rest for some days and after that she was allowed to go back to work.
