She was still in the hospital gown.
She had ran out of the hospital, running into some objects and people. People looked at her like she was a mad person but that did not deter her.
What had just happened?
She placed her hand over her mouth and scolded herself. She had told Natalie the exact same thing before she killed herself and now she told four grown adults the same thing and they had all ended up dead.
It was her fault. She didn't understand how but it was her fault.
She breaks down into tears and starts hyper ventilating. She didn't understand what was happening. They said the tongue was powerful and had the power of life and death but when others cursed people it didn't happen immediately.
"Hey are you okay?" Someone asks from behind her but she didn't bothered looking at who. She just stays there and continues crying.
Whoever was behind her wasn't just a single person. Someone had put something over her head and covered her mouth. She squirmed and struggled as she is dragged away.
~~~
"What should we do with her?" Someone asks."I don't know. We wait for him to come and see what he has to say." Another answered. "And why did you ask her if she was okay? You're a pussy you know."
"Shut up. She was crying. I just said it."
"Pussy." They scoffed.
She struggled in her chair so that they would notice her. "Where the hell am I? Did you tie me up? You fucking kidnapped me!" She yells.
"Shut up you li–"
"That's no way to speak to guest." A man says and she can feel the air become thick. "Remove the blindfold." He orders and they untie the cloth covering her eyes.
It takes her eyes some time to adjust to the light and when they finally do she sees her predicament. Two men stand at her side, one taller than the other and much more heftier.
The man who had asked them to take of her blindfold stands in front of her. He looked young, maybe the same age as Carter but a bit older. He was very tall, maybe six foot, with curly black hair and dark green eyes.
"Who the hell are you?" She says.
"I'm truly sorry. My friends have no manners what so ever. I'm Devon and these idiots are Mike and Terry Jones." He says. His speaks fluently with an accent she couldn't place.
The man named Mike had dark hair and brown eyes he was a couple inches shorter than the guy named Terry Jones who had a buzz cut and similar dark hair with tattoos on his neck.
"How the fuck does that help me? Look, just take me back home and I'll pretend like this never even happened. I've been having a shitty day and I do not need this, Devon." She says and she struggles in the chair.
"Unfortunately I can't do that."
"Why? You disabled or something? Because I see you have two good hands and your brain should be able to know how to untie a knot." She spits.
He takes in a deep breath and smiles. "I get it. You're angry that we... Took you without your permission but please I need you to trust me."
Talia looks at him for a while before before her tiny giggles turn into full blown laughter.
"You kidnapped and now you're asking me to trust you?! You know, if this whole kidnapping thing doesn't work out for you, you should go into comedy because you're a clown. Is this what you do everyday? Kidnap young innocent girls and exploit them? Despicable. You're a horrible despicable person." She says.
She needed to get out of here. Maybe she could do the same thing that caused Natalie, her parents and the FBI agents to die. She just had to say but first she needed to be angry. She didn't understand how it worked but she knew she needed to be angry first, very angry.
Thinking about Natalia and all the horrible things she said, the officers practically calling her a liar and pestering her even in the hospital and Natalie's parents threatening to ruin her life.
"You know what? Go to hell! I'm getting out of here if you like it or not. I will not become another one of your victims. I hope you get whatever coming to you, you bitch.." She tries to feel that electricity but it just feels like small sparks. She finally gives up when she can no longer push further.
Devon gasps but he doesn't open his mouth before he smiles. That same annoying and irritating smile. Inching closer to her face he says. "That won't work on me."
"Do you know how you look when you do that? If no, let me show you." He brings out something from his pocket and for a split second Talia thinks it's a gun she moves violently on the chair closing her eyes and waiting for him to take his first shot.
"Relax. It's just a phone." He waves it in the air and she can't help herself from feeling stupid. He shows her a video of herself from just now.
It shows her yelling at him but there is no sound. Her colour from her brown hair drains away and is replaced by a faint red. When she gives up and starts panting the colour changes back to brown. Her eyes also seem to change colour as well before making Devon slightly gasp.
After a long moment of silence she says. "Do you think I'm a fool?"
"No. You're not are you?"
"You probably did something to the footage and how the hell did you get that? It happened just now." She says.
"Security cameras." He points to an almost unnoticeable red light coming from something in the corner of the ceiling. "You are different. What is your name?"
"I'm not telling you."
He exhales. "Fair enough." He grabs a knife from his belt and crouches behind her. She was certain he was going to kill her now.
He slices something but it's not her. He just cut the rope. He offered his hand for her to take but she just stares at him and rubs her sore wrist.
She gets up by herself and continues to glare at him. "Follow me." He doesn't wait for her to responds as he starts walking.
She hesitates before she follows him.
She follows him out of what looks like a warehouse as they enter a large open area with several tents mounted on the ground. There are many people gathered; children, teens and adults. There is a food stand and some kids her age buy stuff and talk amongst themselves.
An adult teaches a group of little children as they sit crossed legged as they listen with sad faces and the teacher mimicks their expression.
That's when she notices everyone here looks like they don't want to be here. There's a beautiful bonfire in the middle of the field and Devon takes her hand.
"Come with me."
