Damie didn't even talk to Talia as the the day broke and Talia prepared for school. She received her payment immediately when Toby had helped her clock out.

She had sent the money to Damie's account using a fake name so that Damie didn't start asking her questions on how she got the money and finally conclude Talia was now a prostitute.

Damie didn't even tell her about the money and she felt both hurt and relieved they didn't have to talk about it. She was going to have to apologize to her later in the day because she was her sister, maybe not by blood but Damie was her only family.

Talia took her classes while avoiding everyone except Sharon.

Sharon was her only friend in school because she was the only person she could tolerate and the only person that could tolerate her. She had fiery red hair and dark eyes with numerous freckles on her face and arms.

"Hey, T!" Sharon hugs her, squeezing all the life out of her.

"I would say hi back if I could breathe." Talia says and Sharon let's go.

"Sorry, I'm just super excited. So there's this boy I've been talking to online, his name is Bashir, and we've been talking for a year now. He finally asked me out and you'll never believe it. He's in this town! Well not in this town but he's in the city but it's not to far from here! I'm finally going to meet him, Talia. I feel like he understands me and is more me than... Me! He's super funny and we have the same interests, share the same hates. Oh my gosh, I think I've found my soul mate." She squeals.

"Sharon, I don't want to be that person but.. what if it's a catfish?" Talia asks.

"I knew you would ask that and no he's not a catfish. We've had many video calls and face times. Freaky face times if you know what I mean." She wiggled her eyebrows at her.

She knew what she meant.

"No, I don't. And I don't want to know. Anyway, I just hope he's legit. You seem really stoked to meet him. I'm happy for you, I guess." Talia shrugs.

"I don't know if you're being sarcastic, mean or jealous." Sharon crosses her arms.

"Maybe a little bit of all three." Talia smiles at her as they head to their next class.

P. E.

If there was one thing that she disliked more than anything else in the world, it was exercise. She hated having to jog ten miles a day, having to do jumping jacks before the real pain started and having to run.

The coach made sure they all suffered.

Ten minutes 'warm up' before they started the real work out like rock climbing, racing and wrestling if she was having a bad day or just wanted to see kids hurt each other.

"Ah, Talia Russo." The coach called her full name.

"Coach Sanders."

"You ready for a fun filled day of magic and adventure?" She said in a sing-song voice like Talia was a little kid. Talia could smell the sarcasm; there was nothing magical about suffering.

"Okay people, today we're going to do things a little differently. You know how they had to stop swimming lessons because some idiot got pink eye, yes I'm talking to you Jake, well now it's been open again and safe for usage. I said we were going to do things differently today and by that I mean I'm going to tie weights to your legs like 5kg and you're going to swim from start to finish. How exciting is that!"

This is bitch was trying to get them killed.

"Exciting? Are you trying to kill us?" The boy who got pink eye, Jake, says.

"Five kilograms of weight attached to out legs whilst under water. Did the school board agree to this and does the principal know?" Sharon says.

"The school board doesn't need to know and the principal either because I'm not going to snitch but if one of you do I'll just fail every single one of you. Don't look so down though, this is going to be fun. It's painless you know why? Because I won't feel a thing." She laughs hard and everyone complains amongst themselves. "And you guys say I'm not funny." She says in between laughter.

"Since they're no complains let's get started. First set: Sharon, Aisha, Natalie and... Talia. Don't think I've forgotten you." She winks at her and it sends shivers down Talia's spin.

She attached the weights to one leg for each person. "Now if any of you are about to drown make it noticable by screaming because I may or may not be paying attention. Now... Begin!"

They could barely dive inside the water because of the weights. Aisha and Sharon manage to do so first leaving Talia and Natalie at the starting point.

"After you negro." Natalie says and Talia shakes her head.

Don't engage.

She jumps inside the water and Natalie follows suit. It was beyond hard to move the pressure pulling them down and the weights just made matters worse. Talia couldn't move and it felt like a thousand weights were attached to her leg.

Though Aisha and Sharon struggled to move, Natalie moved freely like a fish in water. Talia sees her holding something in her hands as she floats in front of her.

The weights.

Natalie attaches them to Talia's free leg and swims off laughing as air bubbles escape from Talia's mouth as she tried to scream.

10kg weights stuck to her legs underwater and she couldn't move an inch. Sharon had already gone ahead of her and she thought this was how she was going to die.

Her chest felt like it was going to erupt but she didn't dare take in any air because she would choke if water entered her lungs and with a good for nothing life guard, she would die.

Fortunately, Aisha was behind her and she signalled her to help her get the weights off her leg. Pointing violently to her legs Aisha finally realizes what she means and removes both weighs.

As if they had sprinkled fairy dust on her, Talia immediately rises to the top and takes in the deepest breath of her life. Grateful for the fresh air she doesn't know if the water in her eyes are tears or from the pool.

She doesn't reach the end point and climbs out mid way.

"Are you crazy?!" She doesn't really know whether she's directing it to the coach or Natalie.

"You deranged bitch! You almost fucking drowned me!" Again, both insults indirectly directed at both of them.

"You attached two weights to my legs, that was ten kilograms in total. If Aisha hadn't helped me I would have died. What the fuck is wrong with you? And you, coach Sanders, what kind of teacher are you? There is no school on Earth that would approve of this. Do you want to get fired or are you just as crazy as her?" Talia says.

"You better watch your mouth kid."

"Watch my mouth? You put me in a pool with a serial killer, I should be watching out for my life."

"Who the fuck are you calling a serial killer. You're the one who threatened to kill me." Natalie lies although she isn't far from the truth.

"Alright everyone go back to the locker room. P. E. is over for today so I guess you're free till the end of this class. Now get out!" The coach says and everyone practically skips out of the gym.

Talia was done with Natalie and maybe even school. She hadn't slept well last night and not being able to breathe made her nauseous. She would use this time to take a nap in the janitors closet where she wouldn't be disturbed.
