I hesitated, debating if I should walk inside to see her.

I just couldn't believe that she's been hiding who she really is for sometime now. Now that her secret is out, she can be killed without hesitation. I've known Carter for quite some time and he did not mess around when it came to people lying and hiding. Especially if they're a cop.

Queen paced back and forth, waiting. Carter had changed the plan and made sure his family was under close watch. The little princess was with Amelia who rocked her in her arms.

I had hoped, dreamed one day to find love like The Boss and Queen did and a little light was created and she was a beautiful baby girl.

But all dreams don't come true. Especially to people like me.

"Rick?"

I lifted my gaze from the ground to Queen. I noticed a look of concern on her face causing me to lift a small smile. "I'm alright, Queen."

She didn't look convinced but it was going to have to do. My thoughts were conflicted. My feelings for Eva were genuine and were something I never experienced with anyone in my life. I was a loner and until I found the Maso's well Mason. Until I found Eva.

But she lied about who she was and I don't know where we stand.

The sound of doors opening caught my attention. Carter limped out and I heard Queen gasp.

"Where the hell is your cast?" Queen walked over to him.

"I'm fine." He mumbles, making her scoff.

"The doctor said-"

"I am fine. I've been through worse. I'm healed." He cuts her off.

She exhaled loudly, frustrated. "You are the most hotheaded, stubborn man I've ever met. You know that?" She shakes her head, crossing her arms.

Ignoring her, he looked my way. "Do you want to see her? I didn't ask any questions yet"

I looked at him with shock. Carter didn't usually give a damn of what others think except Tiana, Camille, and his mother.

"Yes," Queen spoke up, her eyes soft. "He does."

Tiana and Eva are close and I know Tiana has strong belief that Eva was not like Carter's old right hand man, Brian. She believes Eva had her reasons and that her views changed.

I am stuck and I didn't know what to do but I knew one thing I had to do and that was confronting her.

Inhaling sharply, I did just that.

"They're going to kill us." Sean mumbles while looking around.

Possibly but to be honest, I was not really worried about the possibility. I was worried for Rick and what he would think of me.

I could only imagine his face. Me, a traitor. It will break my heart if he made the decision to dismiss me so quickly without letting me explain myself. My feelings for Rick had grown immensely over time.
