"Why should I believe anything you will tell me?" I questioned this Clarissa.
I still had my hand on my gun, ready to shoot her at any moment. I didn't know who this woman was or where she came from but I had a bad vibe about her.
She shrugs. "It's your choice to believe me." She pulls out her phone and slides her finger over the screen. She placed her phone on the bench and gestures to it.
My body was hesitant. I should just go back inside but my body was moving towards the phone. My hold on the gun remained in case she tried anything.
I grabbed the phone and saw text messages. I frowned. My eyes moved from the phone to her. "This doesn't prove anything. You could be texting anyone."
She chuckles and holds her hands out. I gave her the phone back and watched her with caution. Her fingers swiped and she holds her phone out and I take it and my heart skips a few beats.
A picture of them together and they looked really close. I swallowed hard. Questions roamed my mind.
How well did these two know each other?
Where they involved with each other in the past?
Were there more pictures?
"Swipe." She answers my silent question.
And there were more.
I shook my head and hand over her phone. I shrugged. "So what? You two obviously had a past."
I was giving Ace the benefit of the doubt right now. I feel I shouldn't but I am. I was sure going to confront him about what was happening and I was going to demand he opens up to me. This secrecy he has was unnecessary.
"Look, whoever you are, I don't have time for your I'll wishes. I hope we don't see each other again." I turned and made my way to the door of the roof top.
She frowns at my response. "You're love for him is touching but I bet all will change if I told you he was offered a deal by Cartron and he accepted."
I paused in my steps. I turned back to look at her and she had a smirk on her face.
"Now, I have your full attention."
One thing was confirmed now and her purpose for being here. She worked for my father. I pulled the gun into view and had my hand on the hammer. I saw her eyes widen a bit in shock before backing away.
