Zak eagerly picked up his phone only a second after it began ringing and answered the FaceTime call. A grin spread across his face at the sight of his boyfriend.

"Hi, Zak," Darryl greeted, voice raspy.

"Darryl! Merry Christmas!" Zak greeted excitedly. "How are you feeling?"

Darryl sniffled. "A little better, still not great though. I had some soup today, and I could actually taste it this time!"

"That's good!" Zak's smile faltered slightly. "I wish I could be there with you."

Darryl sighed. "I know, I wish you could, too, but I don't want to get you sick," he said.

Zak pouted. "I don't care if I get sick! I wanna see you!" he whined.

"Zak, no." Darryl's tone was firm. "If you got sick because of me, I'd never forgive myself."

Zak whined again before saying, "Okay, fine. But the minute you get a negative test, I'm coming over there!"

Darryl smiled and giggled slightly before coughing into his sleeve and groaning in discomfort.

Zak frowned. "All right, I'm gonna hang up, you need rest!"

"Wait, no! We were gonna do gifts, remember?" Darryl said.

Zak gasped. "Oh, right, I forgot!" He grabbed the package Darryl had sent him, plus a pair of scissors. "You got what I sent you, right?"

"Yup!" Darryl answered, holding up the box for Zak to see. "It's big, I feel bad for not getting you something this big..." he said, frowning slightly.

"It doesn't matter! I'll like anything you send me," Zak said. "Okay, should we open at the same time?"

Darryl agreed, opening his scissors to cut through the tape.

"Okay, three, two, one..." Zak slid his scissors through the tape and opened the box, eyes widening slightly at the sight of wrapping paper. "Oh wow, you actually wrapped it properly, now I feel bad!" he said, laughing a little.

"Aww, don't feel bad! The paper's just gonna get torn anyway."

"Yeah, I guess you're right."

"Come on, open it, I'm excited to see your reaction!" Darryl urged.

Zak giggled. "Okay, okay, I'm opening it," he said. He turned the gift over and slid his finger underneath the flap of the wrapping paper, tearing it and pulling it off the gift.

"Yo, this is so awesome!" Zak exclaimed as he examined the canvas in his hands. It was a painting of the photo taken by two fans using their standard nicks; "Skeppy" was crouching and looking up, while "Bad" was looking down. To any onlooker, it looked like a kiss.

Zak grinned as he looked back at his phone. "Thank you so much, Dar. I love it," he said.

The two smiled at each other for a moment before Zak said, "Come on, you open yours!"

"All right, all right!" Darryl took the scissors and cut open the box in his hands. His smile faltered slightly as he pulled out another box. "...Zak, please tell me you didn't do what I think you did."

Zak giggled. "Open it!" he encouraged.

Darryl rolled his eyes but did as he was told. To no one's surprise, there was yet another box. "Oh my goodness," he mumbled before opening it as well.

There were two more boxes before he finally uncovered a mass of tissue paper. He dug through it and gasped upon pulling out the gift. A smile spread across his face. "Oh my goodness, I love it!" he said, pulling it out. It was a plush of a muffin, but rather than chocolate chips, there were chunks of light blue clearly meant to be diamonds. "Zak, this is- aah, it's perfect!"

Zak giggled. "So you forgive me for the box thing?"

Darryl sighed. "Mmm.. I guess."

Zak gave Darryl a fond smile through the camera as the older boy cuddled the diamond muffin into his chest and pulled the nearby blanket over himself. "I love you," Darryl said.

"I love you too." Zak blew a kiss to the camera, which Darryl returned. "Merry Christmas," Zak said.

"Merry Christmas, muffin."
