Everything was happening so fast, ambulance were rushing to the apartment building. I sat on the edge of the truck with no shoes on, sipping a hot cup tea, with a blanket. I saw them move Evan onto a stretcher, blood pouring out of his shoulder. I kept staring at it, everything went blurry as my eyes filled with tears. This is all my fault I kept remiding myself.

"Miss Farmiga? Hello?" I hadn't realized that an EMT was standing next to me, trying to get my attention. "Are you Mr Peters girlfriend?" "um, Yes, w-why..?" "Well she took a deep breath I have good news and.. bad news." My face flushed. "Good news please." I asked shyly. "Good news is, the bullet didn't do much damage, but the floor did." "What do you mean." "That leads me to the bad news.."

"A coma?" "Yes, he could wake up today, tomorrow, in 2 years. No one knows." She said while she rubbed my back. "Come on, we'll bring you back to the hospital with him."

2 days later

I've been sitting by Evan for 2 days. Nurses walked in everyday changing his medicine, putting fresh pain killers in case he actually wakes up. I haven't showered in two days and Evan probably smells my stench even in his coma. I would whisper sometimes "Wake up babe, I miss you." His heart rate would go up and I smiled, I knew he was listening.

Sometimes I would just watch him, he would twitch, smirk, readjust himself. Everytime I looked at him my eyes filled up with tears it's all my fault the nurse came in with new pain killers, and smiled at me. "In case he wakes up, Im feeling lucky." I rolled my eyes at her, I didn't like her optimism cause I had none.

It's all my fault

I walked over and grabbed the pills.

All.
