Chapter 9

I wake up to my alarm at 2:45. Since it's so early, I thought it was an accident that my alarm went off at first. But once I realized why I'm waking up so early, I became excited, and the dread of being awake in the middle of the night went away.

I get dressed and grab my pack. I knock lightly on Maye's door, just to let her know that I'm here. I see her desk lamp on through the window of her door. I'm glad she's awake. I could see her sleeping past her alarm by accident.

Right at 2:50, she comes out of her room and we walk to the courtyard. Both of us are anxious to see what lies ahead but are also extremely tired, so we walk silently to the fountains to find Master Yoda.

If Master Yoda is tired, he doesn't show it at all. He greets us by saying, "good morning young ones. A big day ahead of you, you have."

Maye and I bow to him.

"Thank you, master," Maye says.

"Good morning Master Yoda," I respond.

"Go we shall. Want to be late, we do not." Master Yoda says as he starts walking towards the Starfighter Hangar, so we can head to Lothal.

After a long flight in hyperspace, we finally make it to Lothal. Maye took a long nap, but I couldn't bring myself to fall asleep. I felt it would make me look rude and ignorant of the journey we are about to take.

As we land on Lothal, I look outside the windows of the ship. Lothal is a planet I have never seen before, and I look forward to going on it for even just a few minutes. Lothal is a strange looking planet. It is covered with grass and small hills, but it is also covered in what look like large huts of stone. Very curious about the geography of this planet, I make a mental note to do some research on it when we arrive back at the temple.

As we get closer to the surface, I see a small group of padawans, one Jedi Master, and one ship. I look over to Maye who returns an excited smile. We grab our packs and walk out of the ship with Master Yoda who introduces us to the Jedi Master, who from our holopad, I assume to be Master Luna.

"Maye, Esinons, this is Master Luna. Escorting you and the other padawans to Ilum, she is." Master Yoda says.

Maye and I bow to her in respect.

"It's good to meet you both." Says Master Luna who greets us with a smile.

Master Luna is a female human who has long brown hair, weaved in an intricate braid. She wore two silver lightsabers at her waist, both carved with complex patterns. She wears a dark brown robe with a light grey uniform underneath. She radiates calm and positive energy, mostly because of her warm eyes and smile.

"It's nice to meet you too Master," I reply.

"It's good to see you again Master Yoda." Master Luna says as she looks to Master Yoda. "Shall we be off?" Master Luna says as she looks back at Mayem me, and the rest of the padawans.

Master Luna leads us to the ship and starts the lift-off cycle. This leaves all of the padawans to introduce themselves and talk among each other.

Maye and I walk up to a friendly-looking Twi'lek who is sitting with a male human.

"Hello! My name is Maye and this is Esinons. Can we sit with you?" Maye asks politely. I've never been one to walk up to someone new and introduce myself. I find myself to be socially awkward because of my social anxiety.

"Yes, of course!" replies the Twi'lek. "My name is Ivy and this is Gideon."

"Hi! It's nice to meet you both." I reply as Maye and I sit down on the seats across from them.
