Ethan and I haven't talked about what happened at the movies.

I think I'm going to try to talk to him about it today. He'll be coming over so we can exchange gifts!

He's stopping by Mark's house first but then he's coming here to watch stupid Hallmark movies with me.

I'm going to talk to him about it.

Y/n closed their journal, setting it off to the side. There was maybe another 30 minutes until Ethan would arrive so they tidied up a bit, cleaning up their room, doing dishes, mopping, etc.

Soon enough they heard Ethan come into their living room, holding a few gifts.

"I-Eef, I thought we agreed on just one." Y/n stammered looking at the large boxes before them.

"We did I...I just wanted to get you something special, sorry." He smiled.

"...it's fine, but I only got you one present-"

"That's okay!" Ethan said enthusiastically.

Y/n sighed, "Alright alright, do you want to open the presents now?"

"Hell yeah, you first." Ethan said handing Y/n the smallest of 3 presents. 

Y/n sat on their couch and carefully unwrapped the gift.

As they removed the wrapping paper they could see part of the gift, it was an IPad Pro, along with an Apple Pencil.

"Ethan...this is so expensive you really shouldn't have."

"Oh no, it's okay I have the money for it. Plus I know you like to draw sometimes so you could use it for that, or use it for work." He suggested.

Y/n smiled and carefully grabbed the medium sized gift.

They unwrapped it to find an expensive stream deck and a microphone.

Y/n had told Ethan not long ago that they wanted to stream on Twitch eventually, and it seems that Ethan is contributing to their wish.

Y/n picked up the biggest box and quickly unwrapped it. They opened the box that the wrapping paper previously hid, and saw a small card. Y/n picked it up and examined it, seeing a Steam Gift card with $50 on it.

"You really used this big of a box for this huh." Y/n laughed.

Ethan laughed and joked along with them.

Y/n put their things off to the side and handed Ethan his gift.

Ethan unwrapped the gift

"Y/n...this is amazing!" He laughed examining the gift.

Y/n had painted a portrait of them and Ethan wearing Santa Hats, it was skillfully done and took them many weeks to complete.

"Do you like it?" They asked.

"Of course it's beautiful."

Y/n began setting up their new streaming equipment with Ethan's help.

Well, now is better than never I guess...They thought.

"So uh, Ethan...Remember that time we went to the movies?"

"Yeah we saw Greenland right?"

Y/n nodded.

"So I dont know if you remember, but we held hands..." Y/n lowered their voice.

Ethan stayed silent for a moment, "Yeah, you didn't say anything about it after we left so I just assumed you didn't-" he stopped for a moment "...reciprocate...my feelings..." Ethan whispered hesitantly.

Y/n felt their face heat up, "Really? You didn't say anything so I thought...well we're really in the same boat here." Y/n laughed lightly.

Some silence passed between them as Y/n thought about their next words.

"I do..like you Ethan. I just didn't know how to say it."

A smile shot onto Ethan's face, "Th-That's great!"

"But I've never been in a relationship before...so if you're interested in that, I-I'm not really sure how to...be in one y'know."

"I haven't been in a relationship in a while," Ethan said, recalling his last relationship a few years ago, "so I guess we can learn together." He smiled encouragingly at Y/n.

Y/n nodded with a sigh of relief, "Yeah, we've got this."
