Ethan and Y/n sat together on a bench at a park near Y/n's home.

They gently held hands as snow fell around them and the sun began to set.

Ethan rested his head on Y/n's shoulder, "Today has been good." He said in a soft tone.

"Yeah." Y/n's voice shook as they spoke in a whisper.

"Y/n? What's wrong?" Ethan tilted his head to look at his partner, squeezing their hand slightly tighter.

"It's nothing, really. I'm just glad I'm able to be happy, you've made me so happy." Y/n paused for a moment to gather their thoughts, "I remember how I felt when we first met. I was in such a dark place, and while every now and again, I still feel those feelings, you always make me feel better." Y/n sniffled as their eyes began to water. "God, I'm sorry, I don't mean to cry-I just-" they hesitated,

"I love you, Ethan. I really do. I feel like I don't thank you enough for everything you've done for me."

Ethan sat straighter and gently placed a hand on Y/n's face, "Hey, you don't need to thank me, okay? I love you, and we're always in this together." His thumb moved in circles over Y/n's cheek, and he placed a soft kiss onto their lips.

Y/n, after pulling away, wiped their drying tears away, and layed their head on Ethan's shoulder, as Ethan did to them previously.

"We should go home soon, it's getting late." Ethan said after a moment.

"Just a few more minutes." Y/n looked to Ethan with a smile on their face.

Ethan nodded assuringly and looked back to the sunset, along with Y/n.
