When a girl moves to Texas after the death or her mother, she meats a boy named Asher...she later finds out there is much more to him then meets the eyes. But being involved with him, leads her into something messy.

I admire myself in my outfit. It was absolutely adorable. I loved it. I remember the day I had bought this outfit. It was back to school shopping, and me and my Mom were going out on a Mother, Daughter date. It was so fun.

^Her Outfit^

I sigh, knowing I couldn't wear this because of my scars. I search through my drawers and pull out a plain baby blue hoodie. I slide it over my messy hair and then head to the bathroom to brush my hair. I put my hair up into a messy bun and smile, telling myself I was pretty, trying to build up confidence.
I walk out of the bathroom, looking down at my phone reading through some crime news up in New York. But I was interrupted when I ran into someone. I blink at look up to see Asher. "Oh, hey." I say, walking past him. I couldn't really think about him right now. All I could think about was bread. I fucking want bread.
I slide my phone into my pocket and open the fridge, checking it out. I bend down into a squat and become pretty angry when I don't see any bread. I head over to the cabinet and open it, noticing that this was full of plates. I search through everything and get mad when I can't find a food pantry. How hard was it to get some goddamn bread?!
"Looking for something?" I hear an all to familiar voice say behind me. I turn around with my arms crossed. "I just want some bread. A bagel? Something?" I say, almost begging. He shakes his head and walks towards me. I raise my eyebrow as he pushes me against the counter and puts both of his arms on either side of me against the counter."Listen...stay away from me. And keep my family out of your stupid shit." I start to push him away when he backs up, with a raw loaf of bread in his hand.
He hands me the loaf with a sour face and walks away while I eye him, still a little suprised at what just happened. "Hey! Come back!" I yell, running after him as he went outside. He spun around and glared at me. "You cannot talk to me like that." I say, pointing at him. "Oh, and you can?" Asher says, returning my expression. "Fuck off, Adriana." I grab his arm but he yells this time. "I said, fuck off."
I curse at myself and turn around, running back into the kitchen. I start cursing at Asher even though he isn't there while pulling out the loaf of bread. Instead of cutting it or anything, I just take it with me to my room and then call Amelia.
"Hey." She answers as I hear a slammed door in the back. "Hey! I'm gonna send you the address, okay?" I say, stuffing another mouthful of bread in my mouth. "Alright, I'll be there soon." She says, and I hum in response before hanging up.
I hear the front door open and I get up off my bed after quickly hiding the loaf of heaven under my blankets. I run out and hug my Grandpa. "Hey, so Amelia's spending the night and yeah." I begin to walk back to my room but he grabs my shoulder. "Alright, but just make sure you behave yourself." I nod and run back to my room. "Oh and Adriana, ask next time." He laughs and I blush of embarrassment.
Sending the address to Amelia, I jump back on my bed, devouring the rest of the bread, waiting for Amelia to arrive.
*
"Your here!" I yell, opening the door and giving Amelia a hug. She gives me a wide smile and I hurry her in. Grandpa had left to the market, and Grandma was out riding one of the horses. I had no idea where Lucy was, but it wasn't here. Then a shirtless Asher walks into the entry.
"Oh my fucking God. I don't remember anything about your ass living here." I half-yell over at Asher. He was getting too comfortable here and I didn't like it. "Okay, okay. Stop showing your nasty self and go back to wherever you came from." Amelia says, pulling her suitcase into the house. Asher just shot me a death glare and continued to walk. I just mumbled a 'jeez' under my breath. I then turn and help Amelia with her entire closet.
"Are you moving here?" I ask, laughing. "I wish." I laugh at her joke until I realize she was completely serious. I question her seriousness until Asher walks up to me. "I suggest that you guys stay in your room. I'm having some company over tonight." I look at him...this guy was really getting kind of disrespectful. "This isn't your house." I hiss, putting my finger on his chest. He grabs it and smiles down at me. "I'm here aren't I?" He throws my hand away and walks back over to the kitchen.
"Bipolar much?" I mumble to myself. When I had first met him, he had been kind and sweet. But now he was a fucking jerk. What the hell was even going on? I mean, I did kind of yell at him and stuff. But he deserved it, he can't just share information like that. I travel back to follow Amelia and find her in my room. She looks up at me with excited eyes and stands up. "Oh my God. I remember how much fun we had in here!" She yells, jumping on the bed.
We talk for awhile, catching up as much as we can. We also watched some movies that we could barely hear. I sigh as I look over at the clock and see that it's 2:03 am. The music in the living room shakes the whole house and I groan, exiting the room with a half asleep Amelia behind me. I can't believe that Asher had actually bought hotel rooms for my Grandpa and Grandma just so he could throw this part. I'd be talking to them about that. He glanced over at me and walked up to me.
The smell of alcohol fills my nostrils and I scrunch up my nose. "Come dance." He almost whispers, pulling me to the dance floor. I see Amelia blink behind me and watch as she walks back to my room. I knew that once I was in there, she would be out. He placed my hands on his shoulders and began dancing with me as a slow dance came on. Damn, he was drunk. His eyes were so dark, but vulnerable. He was weak right now, alcohol in his veins. And too much at that. "Listen, Adriana. I don't know why the hell your here, and why you were yelling at me...but now your on my bad side. And that's somewhere you don't want to be."
I push away from him and his eyes follow me. It was too loud. I needed to go check on the horses. I leave the house and walk out to the barn, pulling my hands into the sleeves of my hoodie. The chill air hits my face and I smile as stars shine down on me. I now realized that I could lie under them forever. They were so clear and visible here. Back in New York, you could never see the stars like this because of how lit up the city was.
A memory pops in my head as I walk over to the barn. Me and Mom had traveled about four hours away from where we lived into open fields. I smile sadly, a tear rolling down my cheek. Once I'm in the barn, I make my way over to Starly and smile, rubbing her nose. She pushes her face up against my hand and I laugh, more tears streaming down my cheeks. I open the stall after putting a harness on her and lead her out of the barn. Then I hear footsteps behind me and see a boy who is about 6'5. He wears grey sweatpants that hang low on his torso and no shirt. He looks absolutely wasted. His eyes are a burning blue and his hair is dark and swept to the side. Sweat pours down the side of his face and he smiles.
"Hi beautiful." He says, walking up to me. I smile back at him and mumble a nervous 'hi' as he pushes his body against mine. Starly makes a nervous noise with her mouth and hits her hooves against the floor. I try to push him away, but he just wraps his arms around my waist. "I need someone like you in my bed." He almost falls over me but I hold him up. What the fuck was happening? He begins kissing at my neck but I push him away, leaping onto Starly.
I kick her side as hard as I can and she gallops away while I struggle to hang on to her harness without a saddle to comfort me.
