"Why do we have to do this stupid game anyway?" You asked your best friend, Daphne, as the two of you left the girls dorms. You were heading to the common room to meet the rest of your friends for this "Secret Santa" thing you were going to be doing.

"Because it's fun! Bloody hell, Y/N, loosen up. Besides, this'll give you an excuse to hang out with Draco," she teased, smirking mischievously. "Why would you pass up that opportunity?"

"Maybe because he's not my boyfriend?" You shrugged.

"Yet."

You sighed, rolling your eyes as you tried to cover up a smile. "We're about to enter the common room. Do you think you can keep your mouth shut while we're in there?"

"Um..." She pretended to think. "Yeah, I can't promise anything. Sorry."

You glared at her as the two of you finally walked into the common room, seeing your friends already sitting on the couches and the floor by the fireplace. There was Draco, Greg, Vince, Blaise, Theo, Pansy, Millicent, and Tracy.

Yeah, they're quite the handful.

"The irksome twins are finally here!" Theo joked.

"Yeah, yeah. Don't cream your pants," you retorted sarcastically.

You didn't notice how Draco's face subconsciously lit up when he saw you.

"Honestly, what took you guys so long?" Blaise asked as the two of you sat down. You seated yourself next to Draco and he greeted you by playfully nudging you with his elbow, making you smile and nudge him back teasingly.

"I had to straighten my hair," Daphne replied to Blaise. "I wouldn't expect you to understand."

"Whatever," Blaise mumbled.

"Since everyone's finally here, let's get started," Pansy said. "I've already written all your names on some folded up pieces of parchment and placed them each in this bowl."

She grabbed the bowl of our names off of the table and placed it on her lap.

"So everyone is going to grab a piece of parchment, and whoever's name is on the paper is going to be the person-"

"Does this involve food?" Greg interrupted.

You held in a laugh.

Pansy sighed. "Let me finish, Gregory."

"As I was saying, whoever's name is on the paper is going to be the person that you're going to buy a gift for," she explained. "Also, you can't tell the person that you're their Secret Santa. It would ruin the whole point of the game. And when you pick a piece of paper, you can't let anyone see who's name is on it."
