It's been two months since you and Cedric had made yourselves official, and it's been amazing. Cedric was so sweet, and so astonishingly chivalrous; basically every girl's dream guy. His admirable looks were just a bonus.

But something was off. Amidst all the serotonin you had felt for the past few months, you couldn't help but feel something else. There was something looming in the back of your mind.

And no matter how hard you tried to push it away, it would come bouncing back, like an object being thrown into the sky just for it to return to the ground at the fault of gravity.

Was it guilt? Regret? You couldn't quite put a finger on it, but whatever it was, it made you feel out of place, as if you were doing something wrong. Overall, something was just... off.

And you were determined to get to the bottom of it.

You were sitting on a bench in the courtyard, reading over your Divinations notes when you suddenly heard the voice of your best friend.

"Y/N," Draco said, slightly startling you. You turned around, smiling as you faced him. He looked a little unnerved, which slightly concerned you, but you didn't want to assume anything.

"Hey, Draco," you greeted. "What's up?"

"Can I, um- can I talk to you?"

"Sure," you said, feeling suspicious. You wanted to know what the bloody hell was making Draco Malfoy, of all people, this nervous. You patted the empty space on the bench, gesturing for him to sit with you.

"Not here," he said, eyes scanning the courtyard.

"Alright," you said softly, not bothering to hide the curious look on your face as you stood up and grabbed your things. You brought him to an empty corridor, your hands brushing occasionally as you walked in comfortable silence.

"Alright, Dray, what's-"

"I love you," he blurted, making your eyes widen as your lips parted. "I love you, as more than a friend. I've actually loved you for a while, now. I love the way your eyes crinkle whenever you smile. I love the way you laugh at your own jokes. I love how naturally brilliant you are, how you don't even have to try to get good grades. I love how you light up every room you walk into. I love everything about you. A-and I know that you're with Diggory, but I couldn't keep this from you any longer, and... Merlin, I'm just so in love with you."

You stared at him, not being able to form any words. You swore you couldn't feel your heart beating. You blinked slowly as you tried to process everything he had just admitted to you.
