Chapter 22

Shikamaru's P.O.V

  Naruto and I just walked home after Tsunade's announcement. I was beyond excited. Ninjas only got breaks when they were hurt, or if they've been working their butts off.
  I looked over to Naruto, who was laying beside me. We just went home and snuggled the whole day. Granted, not the best use of our vacation. But it was enjoyable.
  Naruto suggled closer to me. Today our vacation officially started. I'm not sure where'd we go, I bet that Naruto would love to stay here considering he's been gone for so long.
  I hugged the yellowed-headed cutie closer to my chest. Then a thought hit me: What happened to his heat? He told me a while ago that it was close, and yet I've never seen him in heat.
  I don't want to see him in heat of course! It just... worries me. Heats are normal for omegas, and the thought of him having heats without me is also not a pleasant thought.
  Naruto stirred in his sleep. I suppose right now wouldn't be the time to ask. I start to mumble thinking about it.
  "S-shikamaru? Why are you up so early?". I hear Naruto whine. I smile. A fake smile it was, but I hoped Naruto didn't notice.
  "What's wrong Shika?". Crap! I'm not good at fake smiling. Naruto gave a worried look. It was cute, becasue he still looked tired.
  "I'm just thinking about thinks". He tilts his head at me, wanting me to explain more. But I simply shook my head. An omega's heat, even though it is natural, is kind of embarrassing. And it was not a talk to have in the morning with a sleepy omega.
  Naruto pouted at me. I kissed said pout in response.
  "I'll tell you later". I smirked. He whined, but he didn't argue about it any further. Which I was very thankful for.
  Naruto woke up, and he went to yhe bathroom. I took this opportunity to look upon the event in the past few years.
  Naruto left the village, and not long after Gaara, and the rest of his team, came clean about working with Orochimaru. Apparently, Tsunade made a truce with the village. I on the other hand, was pretty angry. Kankuro, I think that was guy's name, told us that Gaara unfortunately ruined the plan. Which was quite stupid to say in front of Tsunade, but she let it go.
  Sasuke, not liking that Naruto was training with one of the three sages, ran away. Tysunade tried to send shinobi after him, but the searches never ended in sucess. To this day, we have no idea where that Uchiha brat is and we haven't got any leads as of currently.
  I pondered it for a moment. While Naruro was gone, I tried hard to find this guy. Trying to prove myself to Lady Hokage, but I couldn't do it. I had gotten a lead once, but it lead to the dead end. We've heard reports from Suna, saying they have heard rumors on missions. But nothing that would lead us to actually finding him.
  I was pulled out of my thoughs by a blond-headed ninja. I smiled at the aborable knucklehead.
  "Wanna go somewhere?". I asked. He gives me a tired smile.
  "Mhm... Bed". Then he flops on the bed next to me. I smirk as he rests his head on his elbow.
  "Really? We have a long break". He just looked at me.
  "I know you wanna ask me something, anddddd I'd rather stay in bed". Naruto sticks his tounge out at me. I kiss his cheek.
  "Hah.. Caught me". I smile. He patiently waits for my question.
  "So... What happened about your heat?". Sure I'll admit it was an embarrassing conversation, more so for Naruto then me, but it'd be more embarrassing if I beat about the bush.
  "O-oh". He responded, his face was easily able to be described as scarlet. I just waited for him to explain, I didn't want him to think I was judgeing him for anything.
  "M-my heat... I-it started late. A month after leaving with Pervy Sage
.". At this I was concerned. Pervy Sa- Er- Jiraya is an Alpha.
  "What happened?!". I suddenly got defensive. He calmed my by placing his hands on my shoulders.
  "Nothing happened. Pervy Sage took me to an place where omegas were safe when in heat". I gave him a confused look, pleding for more information. "I ha-haven't had a heat since then". My arms wrapped around him.
  "Wha-". He quickly shushed me by kissing me.
  "Pervy Sage gave me some pills to keep my heat away.. But I cant use them anymore...". I was very concerned. Useing those pills, for three years?! That can't be good! Naruto apparently could see the fear in my eyes.
  "N-nothing's wrong Shika!!". He waved his hands frantically trying to convince me. "I'm perfectly fine! As long as I don't use them again I'ts Oka-" I put my face into the crook of his neck, and licked the spot where I marked him awhile ago. He shivered at this. The mark was light in color, and soon I'd have to re-mark it.
  "I'll believe you, but please don't use them again". I felt him nod. "And tell me if your feeling negative effects!". Naruto nods again, and I feel a little better. I don't like that he was using those pills, but I'd rather that then his heat catching a Alpha off guard. I kisses Naruto's neck, and I enjoyed the surprised gasp that he let out. I'm not saying that I'm not worried, but I'll believe Naruto... becasue I love him.

I've been busy with a bunch of stuff at home, so I haven't been able to update as much as I want. Not to mention the terrible writers block.
