A Mate: A ShikaNaru fanfic

Chapter 13

Naruto's P.O.V.
  A scary man, that was know as Ibiki, came into the room my friends and I were seated in. I wasn't worried about him though. I've met him before, he truly isn't that bad of a guy. I must admit that I would never use his methods of getting information, but he's just doing his job protecting the leaf. I'm more concerned about the fact that Sasuke was in the room. I haven't seen him since graduation, when he brother said he wasn't graduating. So why is he here?
  I look over to Shika as Ibiki explains the rules. Shikamaru shrugs at me, he knows why I'm looking at him but he doesn't have an explanation. Shika is smart though, so he might have some thoughts about it. Ibiki gets done with the rules, and gives us a sheet of paper. I know some of the questions, but a few of them are hard. But since Ibiki is Ibiki, there must be some kind of twist.
Shikamaru's P.O.V.
  They want us to cheat. That much is pretty clear, but we need someone to cheat off of. I supect there is one- no two Chunin in here that already knows the answers. Not sure if Naruto knows, but I just hope he doesn't get caught cheating. Ino is getting her answers by using her Mind Transfer Justu. I write the answers down since I already know them, then I make Choji write the answers using my Shadow Possession Jutsu. I'm not sure how to help Naruto though. Choji said we should help (which I agree with), and Ino said we should should let him fail (which I didn't like). Besides her logic was very stupid. They were testing us on gathering knowledge, not how much knowledge we gain. So if he were to not cheat, wether he wrote down the anwers or not, Naru would pass. Another problem with that is: If Naruto fails we all will be eliminated from the exams. I look at my calm omega.
  He doesn't seem worried. Either he knows all the questions, he knows the real purpose of this test, or Kurama is telling him answers. Though Naruto probely wouldn't do that. I see a floating eyeball glaring at me. I blink a few times, and the eyeball turns into sand. Am I going crazy? I shake my head and look at that tired-looking redhead. He has a jug-like thing on his back, he's probley behind that creepy eye. Of course that'd be jumping to conclusions, but that Gaara is making me feel something I can't quite describe.
  I feel angry, but it's more intense. But this anger is different in other ways. I feel this way by looking at Gaara, even thinking of him makes me feel this rage. What should I call this feeling? Ultra Extra Mad? No, that's too tiring to say. I put my head down. U.E.M, I'll call it that. I sleep untill Ibiki tells us that the time is up, and he will reveal the last question. I kinda zoned out on the other words he said, but I think he said some information about the last question. Some people started to raise their hands and leave with their teammates. I hope Ino and Choji don't rasie their hands. Naruto wouldn't do it, so I don't have to worry about him.
  Naruto started to shout an inspiring speech about not giving up. Coming from Naruto, it was really awesome. If it was anyone else though, I'd give up on purpose to shut them up. Everyone stayed, even Sakura. He asked once more if anyone wanted to quit. When he finally realized that noone else would give up, he turned to us with a smile.
  "You pass!" Everyone, but Naruto, Shino, and I were surprised. I knew of course, so it didn't surprise me in the least. Naruto either found out, knew, or passed by not cheating. Either way, I'm glad he passed the test.
Naruto's P.O.V.
  Sudden a lady bursts through the door complaining about the number of Genin left. This lady.... Anko, I think that's her name, was a student of Orochimaru. Pery sage told me about her and Orochimaru. How Orochimaru used to be a sanin of the leaf, and how Anko was his student. I feel bad for her, but she's happier now.
  That snake was doing freaky  experiments, and the hokage caught him. Unfortunately Orochimaru escaped, and left the village. It still makes me mad. Sanin is a nage only given to the strongest shinobi, and he a tratior was able to have it! Now he is no longer a sanin of the leaf but a traitor who, to this day, still lives.
  I want to be Hokage so bad! But I must wait. I just passed the first part of the Chunin exams, but one day I'll be Hokage! Nothing will stop me, Believe It!!
  Some people say I don't think things through, but I'd just rather do what I'm thinking then to think anymore about the thought. Sure that sounds like an excuse, but it's not! In order to be Hokage I have to react fast and act on impact! Of course Asuma told me that Hokages also have to be inteligent and think about everything.  I like Asuma, he's a great teacher, and he's related to the hokage. So I suppose he miiiight be right, but for right now I need to focus on the exams!
  Anko took us to the forrest of death. I've been there before, so I know my way around the place. It wasn't too dangerous, as long as you stay clear of the wild beasts. Anko made us sigh some forms, then explained what we'd be doing. I got the just of it, but the thing is, we had one scroll and needed to get the other scroll.
  Our team got the Heaven scroll, so we needed the Earth scroll. It wouldn't be hard getting the other scroll, so we'll see what happens.
  "Let's go Naruto!" Ino yells at me. I roll my eyes and start to walk over to my team, then out of the corner of my eye I see Sasuke.
  "Sasuke?" I say out loud. Ino's eyes lit up.
  "He's here?! Where Naruro?!" She didn't see him, well I anit gonna tell that bimbo.
  "Nevermind, it was just duck". She looked very confused.
  "Why would a duck be here- Hey! You're just messing with me!". She put her hand up like she was gonna hit me, but the glare that Shikamaru gave her made her hand slump to her side. I smiled and saw the gate we were supposed to wait at. I will become a Chunin! Believe It!
