A Mate: A ShikaNaru fanfic

Chapter 20

Shino's P.O.V.

*there is some small (not reallu smut) smut in this chapter*
 
  I understand why Shikamaru was unhappy about this, because they are mates and all, but the others do want to see him.
  I was leading the group to one of the training areas. The rest of our class, and Guy's team, were waiting for us. We finally reached the training area.
  Naruto's P.O.V.

  I got tackled by a big swarm of shinobi. Everyone was asking questions, and they were also saying how they missed me. I smiled at them and tried to answer back the best I could. While thanking them for the warm welcome.
  As I looked into the group, I found myself looking into the past. If anyone ever told my younger self that I would have friends, people cheering for my arrival, and a handsome mate. Well, I would've never believed you.
  I didn't notice that tears were falling until Shika wiped them off my face.
  "Are you okay?". Shika asked softly, with a bit of worry in his tone. I nodded and whispered softly*
  "Y-yeah, I'm just... happy". Kurama, who awoke from within me growled.
  "Kit d-don't cry! It shows weakness!".
  "N-nobody will notice, noone ever has. I-it's fine". I said softly. Kurama scoffed.
  "Shikamaru noticed". I smiled and looked at my mate. I do have an amazing mate, dont I? I grabbed Shikamaru's shirt and kissed him.
  He seemed surprised at first, but he went with it. It was a short, but sweet and loving kiss. Everybody looked away, well Sai took a few pictures...
  I smiled up at my Alpha blushing deeply, and took a long look at his lightly dusted pink face.
  "More". He gruffly said. Although dazed and in a trance, he still sounded tough.
  "What? N-not right now..". I whispered.
  "Later?" He pleaded. I knew he was my mate, so I had to agree.
  "Sure". We had a fun night. Catching up with friends, talking about training, and I even learned about the amazing missions they did. But it soon got dark, and we all headed home.
  Shika and I were talking on the way home.. Well I was talking, he just responded while staring at me. I opened the door to the house and Shika rushed inside and locked the door.

  "Shika?". He kisses me on the lips sloftly, placeing his hands on my hips. I wrap my arms around in neck in surprise. I pull away for air.
  "Sh-shika? What are you doing?". I asked inbetween breaths.
  "You said later~". He whispered into my ear. I shivered softly. He kissed me again, but it was more passionate. He tounge softly touched the bottom of my lip, but I wasn't sure what to do.

  He stared at me and, as if out of a trance, he hugged me.
  "I l-love you Naruto". I smiled and replied 'I love you too~'
  Later that night, I couldn't fall asleep. That kiss, it was... too much. And yet a part of me.. wanted to keep going...

Shikamaru's P.O.V.
 
  I really didn't know what came over me. I suppose my instincts hit me too hard. I backed off, because Naru wasn't reacting. He wasn't... kissing back after I licked his lip. Mabey I went too far.. I already said sorry soon after the incident, but Naruto said it was fine.
  But I still feel bad for it. I acted so foolish. When Naruto left my Alpha instincts were numbed. And my instincts hit me like a rasengen to the chest. Granted I was glad to have Naruto back, happier then a kid with 1,000 yen, but my instincts are hard to control.
  I walked out to the kitchen for something to eat, when I saw Naruto in there.
  "Naruto?". I said a bit tired. He turned to look at me, he seemed surprised. I suppose I would too.
  "H-hey..". Naruto's voice was quiet. I gave him a confused look, but it was pretty late.
  "Trouble sleeping?". I asked as I hugged him. He just nodded. I sighed.
  "Wanna sleep in my room?". I ask, hesitant because of what happened earlier. Naruto looked up at me immediately and smiled. I took it as a yes, and led him to my room.
  "T-thanks". Naruto said softly. I just nodded. It wasn't THAT big of a deal, but I don't mind. I laid beside him. Hoping my instincts wouldn't go off. Right now I'm calm, but anything could set it off.
  Naruto started to snore, and I decided to try and sleep as well. Of course that was after I pulled Naru into my arms, and played with his hair for 20 minutes.
