A Mate: A ShikaNaru fanfic

Chapter 14

Gaara's P.O.V.
  Naruto's gate was the opposite of mine. Kinda annoying, then again it would be better to go to the tower with my siblings. We'll get there quickly. Besides I'm sure Naruto will make it.
  We find some shinobi and quickly end them, then we grab their scroll. It was the scroll we were looking for, so we headed to the tower.
  "Don't you think they'll find it suspicious if we ger their too fast?" Temari stated.
  "Calm down Temari, the hidden leaf won't suspect anything". I rolled my eyes at Kankuro's reply.
  "The hidden leaf is a strong village. They have many shinobi, with amazing jutsus". I had to agree with Temari.
  "What do you think Gaara?" I stop on a branch.
  "The hidden leaf is most certainly strong. But there is someone here who holds as much, or more, power then I". I refer to Naruto Uzumaki. A great Ninja, and a loyal friend. I kinda feel bad for betraying such a lovely village. Though I feel mostly bad, because Naruto lives here. I hope Naruto can forgive me.
  We entered the tower and finished the test. I sat down and waited for the rest. I know Naruto will make it. He wouldn't give up. Unfortunately, it might be a long wait.
(A/n: The Chunin exams will be kind of different. Since the teams are different.)
Naruto's P.O.V.
  We looked around for a while and found a team of ninja. Unfortunly they had the same scroll we did, but we found another team that had the scroll we needed. We were heading to the tower, when we saw Sasuke and Sakura. I pointed it out to them, and we decided to check it out.
Shikamaru's P.O.V.
  Sasuke looked like he was in pain, and there was a creepy snake-looking guy infront of him. Sakura, the loud gorilla, wasn't with her team. Which was weird, but I don't really care.
  I looked over to Naruto, and what I saw shocked me. His usually delicate and thin whisker-like lines on his face, were now darker and thicker. His eyes were a deep crimson, and fox-like. He rushed towards the creepy guy and punched him in the gut.
  "Naruto!" I yelled from our hiding place. I tried to catch him with my jutsu, but he was all over the place!
  "Orochimaru!!" Naruto yelled. Causing that snake dude to freeze. Naruto got a few punches in before Orochimaru escaped. He ran to Sakura, a bit calmer now, and asked about the situation.
  "T-that guy b-bit Sasuke!". Choji, Ino and I stepped out of our hiding place. I didn't care about Sasuke, or his well being. I must always stand beside Naruto, even if I could die.
Sasuke's P.O.V.
  My brother trained me with Kakashi until the Chunin exams, when they came my brother told me to enter. That this would prove if I was ready to face Naruto. Unfortunly that stupid ninja from the sound village bit me. Now I'm being watched over, cared for, and protected by the very person I want to defeat! This is not the Uchiha way!
  I stand up and hear Sakura whine and complain about it. But she can die for all I care. I don't need anyone, but my family! Not even them, I can do everything myself! I will become a Chunin, prove myself, and defeat that dobe!!
  "Sasuke? Why are you heare? I mean I really like yo- that you're here, but-" Ino started.
  "Ino shut up! Sasuke probley doesn't want to talk about it!" Sakura argues.
  "Hey bird brains! Let's go, before we lose to you two bicker like babies!" Naruto yelled. I was surprised to say the least. Naruto said something I would usually say. Kinda makes me see that dobe in a new light, kinda.. But I won't admit it! I will never get my pride back if I do that!
Naruto's P.O.V.
  It's weird that Sasuke is here, and weirder that Orochimaru is here. But Sasuke is from the hidden leaf, so I have to back him up. However getting this information to the proper people, would be better.
  "Shikamaru, Ino, Sasuke, Choji, and Sakura we have to go now. This information must reach the hokage!" I tell them.
  "My team doesn't have both of the scrolls yet!". Sakura practically screams. Is she trying to get us spotted?!
  "That person was none other then Orochimaru, a ex-nija of the hidden leaf".
  "Naruto you're lying! There's no way!". Ino gasps. I roll my eyes.
  "Orochimaru is a strong person, named one of the sanin from the hidden leaf. We need to relay this information to the hokage! I can't afford to waste time like this!". Choji and Shikamaru nod in my direction.
  I look over to the other three. Ino walks over to me, while Sasuke and Sakura hesitate.
  "You guys are big drags. We could leave you here to die, but lucky for you Naruto is nice". Gotta love Shikamaru. I held his hand. He smiled softly at me. I really love this guy! Sasuke was the one to gasp. Why did he do it? Not sure, but I dont have time for it!
  "Let's go!" Everone followed me. Finally! I found a ambu hiding, and flagged him down. At first he was surprised, but he soon vanished after I told him the information.
  "What do I do?" Sakura asked. I shrugged. She gave me a disgusted glare, but Shikamaru gave it back.
  "It's not Naruto's fault that you left your team to help Sasuke, nor is it his responsibility to help you find your team. What a fricken drag!". I smiled. I couldn't have said it any better. Shika is an amazing boyfriend!
