A Mate: A ShikaNaru fanfic

Chapter 15

Naruto's P.O.V.
  We ran to the tower. Hoping noone would stop us, when we saw a white-haired man.
  "Hello". I pointed a kuni at this stranger.

Kabubto's P.O.V.
  I was complexed by his reaction speed, perhaps he'd be a great test subject! I shall try to lure him in along with Sasuke.
  "Woah! I'm here to help bud!" I say defensively. I know that brat isn't an Alfa, I can tell by how small he is, but he certainly can't be weak.
  "I was gonna say hi earlier, but my team needed to have a meeting!" Actually that was true, we were talking about how to get Sasuke. But when I tried to go over to them earlier, but Gaara gave me a glare that scared me half to death.
  I't happened when I approached the blondie. I'm sure Gaara has something for him, but if this is true... Gaara might not go along with the plan, and that can't happen.

Naruto's P.O.V.
  I didn't like that guy for some reason. I'll take it as a gut feeling, though it could be Kurama trying to warn me. I looked down at my stomach, where the seal was. Kurama said he wouldn't speak that much during the exams, so I could prove to myself that I'm worthy of being Chunin.
  "We don't need your help". Sasuke scoffed at him. I, for once, agreed with him. Though he could've been more humble, I guess.
  I move past this guy, when he tries to grab my arm. I quickly move away from his reach.
  "I'm Kabuto, I just wanna help you make it to the tower". He smiles, a very fake smile, and tries to explain why he wants to help us. But Sasuke cutts him off.
  "We don't need your help! I am a Uchiha! I don't need help from anyone!". Classic Sasuke, always humble. Should I tell him that I saved him? Nah. I'd rather not. His Uchiha pride is stupidly high. We passed Kabuto and safely made it to the tower. Sakura's team was waiting for her, and Sasuke walked away. I sighed no thanks, tylical. We open the doors we were suposed to go through, and openef the scrolls. Asuma appeared infront of us.
  "Happy you made it my genins". I smiled at him.
  "Of course! Naruto Uzumaki won't fail!" He nods approvingly of my statement. Asuma tells us he's proud, and walks us through the tower. We enter a room with the other Chunin who pass, Kabuto being one of them. Then a guy who coughed between each word starts to speak.
  "Since there are so many, we need to have a pre match for the Chunin exams". I watch Sasuke ache in pain from across the room. I shouldn't care about Sasuke, but my personal and omega nature won't let it go. Sasuke won't say something, so I have to.
  I raise my hand, while looking at the shaking duck butt. Once he notices me, he gives me a threating glare. But I didn't care. I stuck out my tongue and rasied my hand higher. I could practically feel how mad Sasuke was.
  "Yes Naruto?" I put my arms behind my head, in my usual way, and frown.
  "I don't really like the guy, but Sasuke doesn't seem like he's able to fight". He turns to, the now boiling mad, Sasuke.
  "Well, I suppose we can take a 10 minute break". A ninja I believe named Kakashi whispered somthing to the coughing man.
  "Make that 30 minutes". Then Kakashi drug Sasuke away. Well.... Time to talk to my boyfriend!
  I hug Shika tightly, and he hugs back smiling (well more like smirking) at me. I love it when he smiles, he's so handsome when he does! But Shika's excuse for not smiling is that showing emotion is a "drag". Which is silly, but he smiles infront of me, so that's good!
  Suddenly I feel a very murderous aura, and I hide behind Shika. My omega instincts kicked in, and Shika put his gard up. Dark, Evil, even muderous auras usually don't scare me. But that aura was strong, very strong and filled with the intent to kill. I started to shake. Not becasue I was scared, but becasue I've never felt such a aura from someone. It had to be Gaara! There's no doubt, because of the power behind the intent of murder. But the question is why? Why did Gaara feel this way? It was directed my way, so it's either me or Shika he wants to kill. I can defend myself against him, even if he is an alfa! But if Gaara tries to kill Shika! I won't forgive him! I mean, I won't let him kill Shikamaru either, but I will not forgive Gaara for attacking him! Hopefully it doesn't come to that! I really like Gaara! He's a great friend, but can't try to hurt my mate!
Shikamaru's P.O.V.
  I was smiling at my adorable omega, when he hid behind me quickly. I raised my gard, becasue of two reasons. 1. Naruto is MY mate, so I'llprotect him from anything. And 2. Naruto usually doesn't act like this with anything scary except ghosts and "scary myths" as Naruto says. So to see him this scared out of nowhere, is absolutely something to worry about. After checking our surroundings, I glanced over to Naruto to see if he was okay.
  "Naruto are you okay?". He nodded, but frowned. I knew something was up. I moved us away from everyone else.
  "What scared you Naruro?". I asked calmly, but worriely as well. He did smile at me, but I knew it was fake..
  "Oh..uhm something spooked me?". It sounded more like a question..
  "Please tell me Naru.. I want to protect you..". I look down becasue I was kinda embarrassed, but I need to know. I look up to see my blushing Naru.
  "O-okay, I f-felt a bad aura... Like one full of killing intent!". I didn't like the sound of that.
  "Was the intent directed at you?". I wanted to scream that question, but I needed to remain calm. He shook he head slowly.
  "I-it was at you, I t-think..". I let out a breath of relief, and relax.
  "Wha- That's your reaction?!". I simply nod, and he scoffs at this.
  "Why wouldn't you worry-". I flick his nose, softly but hard enough for him to quit talking.
  "As long as noone wants to hurt you, I'm fine". I say smiling. I kiss his nose and smile at his blushing face when I pull away.
  "Sorry about flicking you my Naru~". He nods quickly and runs away. I laugh softly, I love that boy.
