I opened my eyes, lifting my head from my pillow as I saw Sammy sleeping peacefully in her cot as the Doctor had his arms wrapped around waist as he slept with his face against my back.
He was snoring a little, which made me laugh inside my my head as I smiled slightly. I then looked over at Sammy again, then it hit me; babies aren't supposed to sleep so much, let alone be so quiet, aren't they?
I moved over to my other side to face him as I put my hands on his chest and shook him slightly.
"Doctor," I whispered as he moved his head around, mumbling "What," as he kept his eyes closed. "It's Sam."
He then jumped straight up from his sleep, looking at me with concerned eyes.
"What's wrong with Sam?" He asked as he looked at me and cupped my face in his hands.
"Is she supposed to sleep so long? Is she supposed to be quiet? Is she..." He saw the fear in my eyes as he looked at me as his gaze softened and pulled me to his chest.
"No, no, dear. Time Lords as babies sleep in peace, quiet peace. She's probably dreaming of what's out there... she's not gone, dear." He pulled me a away for a second, wiping a tear with his thumb as he looked at me.
"Time Lords are ment to sleep a lot as babies, so they can save their energy for what's ahead so they can travel and take on baddies and have morals and a happy ending with their companions."
I looked at him and slowly started to stop myself from weeping. I sighed in relief as he smiled somewhat. He sat there, pulling back into his arms as rested my head on his chest and closed my eyes, sighing quietly as we both listened to the TARDIS hum contently as it was loud enough to send a little lulliby to Sammy to help her sleep for what's in store.
"There's no need to worry." He whispered.
"I'm always going to worry. Its my job."
