We got in the TARDIS, the Doctor closing the doors as we went immediately to the kitchen. Several hours had already passed, though it only felt like one. I looked up, smiling somewhat as I saw Jack standing by the island as he rubbed his eyes.

"Hey. Got you something." I said and handed him the bag as he looked at it before opening it.

"You got me something?" He asked a as I nodded as he sat it on the island and opened it - smiling. "Mmm... funnel cake. Thanks." He said as he gave me a tired hug with a smile. I watched as the Doctor put ours in the fridge and then patted Jack's back.

"Hey, Kalena. Can we have a moment, please?" The Doctor asked as I looked at him - somewhat confused but silently nodded and followed him to the hallway. "What was going on at the carnival?" He asked in a monotone whisper as I leaned against the wall.

"What do you mean?"

"You and your cousin. After she asked if Jack was yours, you got tense, embarrassed - something triggered something you didn't wish was mentioned. What happened?" He repeated again as I put my hand on my forehead, sighing. "Fine... you want to know?" I questioned him as he looked at me with intent eyes.

"It was a few years ago and I was walking across the street and just out of the blue a car ran a red light and hit me. I don't remember much, besides waking up to a crying cousin after several months of Coma. That's when she told me..."

I paused, wiping my eyes and took in a breath. "She told me that I was incapable of having children... and whenever I hear or see new borns or just little children in general, i-it tears me apart." I felt him pull me close to him as he wrapped his arms around me.

"Dear god, Kalena," he said quietly as he took in a breath and kissed my forehead. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." I moved my head, wiping my eyes as he let me go - then seeing Jack looking at me as he heard everything that I just said.

"I-I'm sorry." He then came to me, actually hugging me sympathetically. I returned the hug, letting go as I reclined against the wall. "Its okay... I just need some time to relax." I sighed as I went down the halls, turning a few corners before finding the pool. I sat down by the edge, rolling up my pants legs and dipping them in the water and watched them quietly.

About half an hour later, foot steps echoed around as a hand was placed on my shoulder - followed by some weight as someone sat down next to me.

"There you are. I was getting worried about you." I looked over to see the Doctor sitting by me. I pulled a small half-smile as I looked over at him.

"I was starting to get worried about myself." I slightly chuckled with a sigh.

"You know, most women that are infertile end up getting a child anyway due to some miracle. Maybe you will be lucky." He said quietly as he watched my legs in the water.

"Maybe... but I was told that I wouldn't have any - no matter how hard I tried. I'm pretty sure that it won't happen."I said as he grabbed my hand. Then one question crossed my mind.

"What are you exactly trying to say?"

"Just don't give up so early, alright?"
