"Juggie! Come on they're pretty! Why can't we get them?" Betty complained, pulling on her boyfriends arm. "Because, Betts! We have 5 minutes to get back to your mom's house before she gets mad about your silly curfew!" Jughead told her, slightly exasperated. He did not need Alice Cooper thinking any less of him. She already thought he was serpent scum who didn't deserve Betty, and Jughead completely agreed. But Betty insisted she loved him and treated her amazing.
"I know Jug, but please! Just the fairy lights. I promise! We can make a pillow fort in the living room and hang them up! Please!" Betty insisted, giving puppy dog eyes. Jughead rolled his eyes and his face broke into a smile before answering. "Fine. But only because you are so damn cute when you make that face." Betty pecked his lips, but was pulled into a long one by Jughead. They let go and Betty pulled the plastic box off the shelf, running up to the register with Jug laughing behind her. They quickly payed and headed back to her house, arriving less then a minute after 10 o'clock.
They grabbed pillows and blankets out of the hall closet and ran back to the living room, setting up chairs around the tv so they could snuggle and watch movies. While the young couple were laying blankets on the floor, Alice came out at the noises of chairs scraping and giggling. She watched at the doorway of her room to see Jughead spinning Betty around, Betty laughing at the sensation of almost flying through the air. Then Betty ran to the kitchen to get snacks while the boy strung the newly purchased lights around the outside, finishing just when the girl came back, arms laden with candy, soda, chips and cookies.
Jug laughed and grabbed the snacks from her arms, setting them down on the blankets. "You really do know me, don't you Elizabeth Cooper." He tilted her chin with his finger so they were staring into each others eyes. Betty wrapped her arms around his waist so they were as close as possible. "I like to think so, Forsythe Pendleton Jones the third." Betty smirked when he rolled his eyes. "You know I hate it when you call me that." Betty giggled. "And I hate it when you call me Elizabeth. Guess we were both stuck with annoying names. Though I love making fun of yo-" She was cut off by a pair of warm lips on hers, effectively distracting her from his odd name.
"I said I don't like that name." He growled against her lips, making Betty shudder. "You know my mom's in the other room, right." she mumbled, making him groan from the disappointment. He pulled apart from her and winked. "Maybe next time." Sitting down in the giant pile of blankets, Betty was pulled back onto Jugheads lap. "Maybe." She winked back, laying one last lingering kiss on his lips before pulling the food closer to them and wrapping up in a blanket, turning the tv on and snuggling close to her boyfriend.
Alice remained hidden in the shadows, hoping to not be noticed by her daughter, and she wasn't. Walking back to bed, Alice decided that Jughead Jones, the Southside scum who didn't care about anybody, was good enough for her daughter, and actually cared about her.
