Betty POV
"Veronica! Give me the remote!" I yelled, jumping up trying to grab the remote. She was standing on the table holding it above her head so I couldn't reach it.
"No, Betty! I want the Matchorlette to stay on!" She shouted back, avoiding my fruitless attempt to get the remote.
"Why the Matchorlette? What about True Crime!" I responded, making yet another attempt to grab it, which unseated Veronica and made her fall off the table and drop the remote on impact. "Shit! Sorry, V. Are you ok?" I asked, helping her up by her arm. After she was standing, I slowly inched toward the forgotten remote.
"Yeah, it was just a small fa- HEY!" she cut herself off when I had gotten the remote and ran back to the living room. "Betty! You tricked me!" Veronica exclaimed, following me. "No, I was concerned, but after I knew you were ok I didn't need to worry!" I teased when I stopped in front of the T.V., switching the channel to the one I often watched with Jughead.
The phone rang from the kitchen, echoing through the other wise silent house.
"I'll get it. Since you're too busy putting on crime shows." Veronica sighed, walking down the short hall. "Hello?" Veronica asked into the phone, and then the click of the phone back on the wall and silence. "Veronica? Who was it?" I called, after she didn't come back. I heard a drawer slide open and closed, then Veronica's heels clicking on the wood floors.
She came around a minute later, a large knife in her hand. Her face was blank, no emotions, like she wasn't even there.
"Veronica? Veronica?! Veronica stop!" I backed away against a wall, trying to not die. "Veronica! Why are you doing this?!" Ducking under her arm, I ran to the stairs and got into my bedroom, her right behind me.
Veronica POV
Why was I in Betty's room with a knife in my hand. "Betty? Why am I holding knife? And why are we in your room? " I lowered the knife and set it on the bed, Betty flinching at the sudden movement. "What do you mean? You picked up the phone then came into the living room with a knife, trying to stab me. I ran up here and snapped my fingers and then you went back to normal." She backed away slowly, as if I was going to grab the knife and chase her again.
"What? Oh my god Betty i'm sorry. I picked up the phone and thats all I remember. I definitly did not want to stab you oh my god." I attempted to back away before Betty pulled me into a tight hug.
"It's ok. I know you didn't mean to. I think someone hypnotized you. It's not your fault."
I returned the hug, fearing for Betty's safety. Who would go as far as trying to get her friends to kill her.
