Storm weaved through the heap of dragons blocking his way to the exit in the back of the ice island.

More like he tried.

He only was able to get about halfway before a red Monstrous Nightmare caught his back leg in strong grip. Unfortunately, Storm did not realize he had been stopped until he was hurtling down towards the icy skewers below, the Nightmare still hanging onto his leg. The world spun around and around as Storm attempted to kick his attacker from his aching limb. In his peripheral vision, he could see the spikes of ice jutting out like knives nearing quickly. If he didn't break the Nightmare's lock soon, he would certainly fall to a painful death, stabbed through with a icy needle. Storm shook his head. Focus. Narrowing his eyes, Storm picked out the weakest point on his target: The eyes. With a swift stomp, the red dragon let out a pained shriek and miraculously let go. Storm spread his strong wings and effectively barrel-rolled out of the way, trying to ignore the sickening crunch as the Nightmare's body collided with the ground below.

Storm swooped up towards the ceiling, attempting to clear some room to fight when suddenly a warm body collided with his. "You killed my mate!" A feminine voice growled. "You will pay." A sharp set of incisors suddenly snapped around Storm's neck as teeth as sharp as knives punctured his scales. Struggling violently, Storm struck his attacker with outstretched claws. He heard a deep snarl and the grip around his neck tightened immensely. Storm roared and dug his claws deep into the dragon's soft underbelly, finally jerking his neck free. The female Nightmare attempted to grab him again, but Storm was quicker this time. With a strong kick and renewed energy, Storm whirled around and sent a plasma blast sailing into his attacker.

That was when all hell broke loose.

All in one moment, a mob of dragons crashed into Storm. They grabbed him, hauling him out of the air and attempted to seemingly break every bone in his body. Kicks plummeted his head and back, and claws dug into his scales. A roar of pain and anger escaped him, and he desperately tried to break free with no eval. There was no where to run. Storm suddenly felt overrun and exhausted as a kick to the gut sent the air whooshing from his lungs. In front of him, the Deadly Nadder from before smirked profitably and mouthed something Storm couldn't hear. Then, he opened his mouth considerably wide, and the back of his gullet omitted a yellow light.

It was then that Storm realized what he was about to do. He's going to kill me. A sudden haze began to settle over Storm's mind. So this is how it ends.

No.

Storm's eyes snapped open. He would not die this way. He wouldn't allow this dragon to cut his life short, shorter than Twilight's. Anger sparked within Storm, and adrenaline pumped through him. With a roar of fury, he gathered up his power and threw the electricity at his attackers. A sudden sizzling noise filled the air, and a rush of energy filled Storm's body. At the same time a piercing golden light filled his vision, and he met it with his own.

Electric blue met blazing yellow with a deafening CRASH that threw both dragons clear of the explosion. Chunks of ice impacted by the blast rained down from the ceiling of the cavern and fell in a snowy heap.

For several moments, all was silent.

And then the Alpha roared.
