Pete had a small group of friends. They knew he had problems and they always tried their best to help him up. The depression, the borderline personality, the thoughts of ending his life. Pete knew this small group of people would always be there for him. Through thick and thin. That's what true friendship was.

My phone lit up
Petey D: Yooo, how ya'll doin? Wana cum hang at my house?
I rubbed my eyes and tried adjusting my sight to the light.

I'm assuming one of his boys would answer him so I snuggled back into my pillow, pulling my blanket over me tightly and went back to sleep. It had been a long day. I had helped my sister move house, looked after my niece from midday to four in the afternoon and then headed to work where I clocked out at 02:00.

Petey D: Yooo, wea u @?No1 here atm. Keep me company.
07:09
Petey D: Yyooooooo.
Petey D: Helloooooo.

09:00
My phone started ringing. I sat up in bed and yawned before I went and answered it.
"Hello?" I grumbled. I wrapped my sheet around me and wondered towards my drawer.
I heard loud laughter and talking in the background. I imagined there were at least five different voices I heard.
"Where you at T? Wakey wakey!!" Pete said in a sing-song voice.
"Just waking up Petey D" I softly smiled. I tucked some stray hair behind my ear as I opened my drawer and pulled out some underwear, running shorts, sports bra and a singlet.
I heard his laughter on the other end of the line. "Yea, but I was hoping you'd have come over as well". I imagined him leaning on the kitchen counter as the others 'hung out' around him. Sometimes it didn't matter how many people you were around, you needed one particular person for certain situations. I seemed to not only be the sober one, but the one you could talk serious shit with. Well, at least I thought I was.
"Do I not mean anything to you T?"
"You know I'm always here for you Petey. Always.
"Come keep me company then"
"You sound like you've got enough company on your hands at the moment" I laughed as I put him on speaker phone and placed my phone on my dresser as I got changed. It was humid as hell so the less clothing the better. Hell, I would have rather hung out at home with no clothes it was that hot.
