Adeline's P.O.V

I couldn't sleep. Despite my eyes being tried from all the crying, I felt like I couldn't sleep. I heard a knock on my door before it opened.

"Archie?" I asked confused.

"Hey. Did I wake you?" Archie asked me.

"No. Couldn't sleep," I tell him.

"We need to get dad," Archie told me.

"What do you mean?" I asked, getting up.

"I had a dream with Grandpa Artie and he told me that we need to get dad," Archie told me.

"You sure you want to do this?" I asked him.

"Yes. Come with me. We can get him together," Archie told me.

"Let me get dressed," I tell him.

"I'll call Reggie to lend us his car," Archie told me. I nodded before changing into my clothes.

Betty, Jughead, and Veronica were with us when we waited outside for Reggie. Once Reggie pulled up in a hearse, he got out and tossed Archie the keys.

"She's all yours," Reggie told us.

"How do you even have a hearse, Reggie?" Veronica asked him.

"It's been sitting on the lot for two years. No one wants to buy it," Reggie explained.

"Well, I owe you, Reg. Thank you. And you guys, I'm sorry for calling so late," Archie said.

"It's really not a problem, man."

"I just... I don't want my dad stuck in some weird town. And I can't wait for after July 4th for them to bring him back. He'd want to be home, I know that," Archie said.

"Let's get going then," I tell him.

"Alright."

I walked over to Reggie while everyone headed to the hearse. I kissed Reggie's cheek and smiled softly at him.

"Thank you, Reggie," I tell him.

"Anything for you, Adeline," Reggie smiled at me. I got in the back with Betty and Jughead. I sat in the middle of the two.

"Betty, is it okay if I lied my head on Jughead's shoulder? I didn't get much sleep," I tell her.

"Yeah. Why are you asking me though?"

"I'm asking you first so it doesn't look like I like Jughead," I tell her.

"Go ahead," Betty chuckled.

"Jughead, can I sleep on you?" I asked him. Jughead smiled softly at me.

"Of course. You're like my second little sister," Jughead told me. I smiled at him before lying my head down and falling asleep.

The next morning, Archie and I went in to ask where our dad's things were. Veronica came with us. I stood close to Archie as we went to the front desk.

"Hi, I'm Archie Andrews. My dad, Fred Andrews was in an accident off the freeway yesterday," Archie said.

"Oh, yeah. I heard about that. I'm sorry for your loss," the woman told us.

"Thank you, ma'am. I was wondering if you found the person responsible yet," Archie asked.

"We got a description of the car that hit your dad. The make and the model, but no plate number. Nothing yet. But, we're not giving up," the woman told Archie. Veronica's phone started to buzz, making her walk away to answer the phone.
