Echoing heavy footsteps slowly descended within the dungeon. The sound continued until they reached the door of Devon's prison room.
There were three people standing in front of that door, waiting for the guard to completely open the door for them and be ushered inside in a manner befitting to a royalty. One of the three figures was Prince Drake. Beside him was his older brother, Prince Duke. The other one had great authority and presence that couldn't be suppressed and made the two princes be overpowered by him alone. The atmosphere coming from him was distinctly strong that the two princes couldnt help but bow to him in submission to his authority and might despite being in their own teritory.
As the door open, the inside of the prison cell can be fully seen despite the dimness. Devon was in the center of the room being restricted by metals that binded both his hands over his head. These metals, aside from being sturdy, were no ordinary bindings since they can suppressed the prisoners power and locked it. Despite being oppressed by it, Devon still managed to send a secret message to the Four Nobles about this predicament that might turned into a huge war.
Devon's upper body was torn from the harsh beating. Aside from his previous wounds when he went to battle before, they were also new wounds that could be seen on him. He was badly tortured these past few days since coming in the Avalon Kingdom.
"Come in, Your Excellency... " Ushered respectfully by Prince Duke as Prince Drake bowed humbly in reverence to that figure while giving way to him.
As soon as that figure took a step inside the cell, his eyes meet that of Devon.
"You traitor!" Devon glared at that figure si viciously as if jr wanted to kill that figure in that moment.
"Its been a long time since then, but you still havent change... You're still the same loyal barking dog ,Devon... A pity you werent able to go with your parents... " Mockery was present in his baritone voice as he looked down at Devon in a nonchalant manner. However, his eyes spoke volume of his greed and ambition. "...Anyways, it wont be long before it happens... " He smirked at Devon in a threatening way.
At a certain place not far from the Avalon Kingdom, as soon as the 4 shadow little snakes which came from different directions meet in one place, just as the four them if them could proceed from going further the Avakin Kingdom, one of the shadow little snake shooked strongly before it exploded, endangering the other shadow little snakes together with it.
When the connection of the shadow little snakes was gone, Devon already knew who was the perpetuator.
Being a member of the hidden Fifth clan, one of their important tasks was to protect the secrets of each Noble Clan from each other's prying eyes. Only them knew the secrets of the Four Nobles. Anyone who wanted to wield great power knew who to seek first. However, the Fifth clan were very loyal to the imperial clan so no one could persuade them. Aside from that, they were also known to possess great prowess so no one can harm nor suppressed them.
Thats why when the Tsua dysnaty was still reigning, the first thing that the anti-royals and rebels who banded together, did was to discard the royals' greatest backer and supporter - the Fifth Nobles, Keeper Clan.
The first to fall during the conflicting war was the Fifth Clan who were planted with spies and were slowly being msssively poisoned by slow acting poison with non-showing symptoms. The plan was slow and can be seen that the one who did it was planning it for a long time. The perpetuator was just waitinh for that precious time to launch a heavy blow towards the imperial clan while getting them off guard. The Martial clan extended their help to the imperial clan resulting in them receiving the huge brunt in the raging war. A lot died from their Clan and three were many casualties as well.
The neutral faction from where the Trader clan belong couldn't standby seeing that the political issues gag been causing great unrest towards the commoners and the economic conditions of the society. Being composed of merchants as a clan, they couldnt help much in terms of brute force but they tried to help the imperial clan in giving funds for food and weapons in the military camps.
Only the Medicine clan stood by and watch the happenings as if they were waiting for the war to end before reaping benefits from the situation. The Sage clan during that epic was no where to be found and seen. It was like they vanished into thin air just like how the Keeper Clan slowly crumbled into dust.
"Now, tell me where is the treasure that holds great power? Where was that green jade pendant that can help me rule the world ?! "
