At the heart of the forest where dense trees blocked the rays of the light from above, three figures stood at a distance. The darkness that was looming over the forest covered their figures well.
Devon would have not mine the two dark figures if not because of the other person's powerful aura that made him to be alert and to take precautions. With reluctant, Devon stopped his attack at the unusually large and wide old tree that could not be hugged by ten people even if they spread their arms sideward.
"Who are you? Show yourselves..."
Devon went on guard when he felt the other person's aura of killing intent. He was about to attack first before someone could injure him badly when he heard a melodious feminine voice spoke into the silent night. "Prince Drake, let's avoid fighting. We still have important business to attend to..."
"Princess Cynthia, with due respect, why did you join me in this mission instead of my Older Brother Prince Duke? If you will keep complaining and spouting nonsense, then, just go back... I don't need a burdened companion just to fail this mission..." A masculine voice spoke back harshly and filled with a tone of irritation.
"What nonsense are you talking about? I made sense..." Princess Cynthia pouted like a child.
"Tell me Princess Cynthia, who the hell would not fight back when enemies meet? Or is being threatened?" Prince Drake countered in an impatient tone. His thin patience will have to be stretched more when in comes to the Princess of Avalon Kingdom. Being sheltered from the outside of the kingdom might have its own perks but it is also detrimental to one's belief and culture once they found out how cruel the world really is.
"What enemies? What being threatened are you talking about? You're the one who is speaking nonsense..." Princess Cynthia continued to blabber out with a happy smile shining on its beautiful face. "You're to over cautious, Prince Drake..."
"Why can't you just go back and be with my Older Brother Prince Duke? Instead of pestering me like this..." There was a little jealousy and envy laced on its voice that could not be detected unless you pay extra care for listening well.
"But that guy needs our help... Look at his bandaged arm. Can't you see his injured?" Princess Cynthia looked hesitant as she pointed her newly polished fingers on Devon's location.
