Today was the day. Nya was going to turn herself in no matter how bad she or her brother didn't want to. She needed to. There was nothing else for her to do. Kai wasn't okay with it and she knew that. But at this point, she didn't care. She was just lucky enough to have had a few days free.

But there was one last thing she needed to do before she was locked away for good. So she took a little detour to the hospital. Kai waited outside which gave him some more time to think about all the happy memories of him and his sister.

The other ninja were there too but Nya asked for some privacy, at least just for a few minutes. She was nervous about seeing him again but this would be the last time. She needed to say goodbye.

She knocked the door quietly and then entered. Jay, who was sat up in the hospital bed with numerous wires and machines attached to him, looked up and spotted Nya straight away.

"Nya," He smiled, "I-"

"No," She sighed, "Let me talk, please."

Jay glanced back down at his hands awkwardly as Nya closed the door. She didn't bother sitting down as she wouldn't be there for very long.

"Kai told me you said to the police that you couldn't remember what happened," She stated, "Why would you lie?"

"Because it's like I said. It was an accident and I trust you," Jay responded.

Nya took a deep breath, "I didn't want to hurt you, Jay. That was the last thing I ever wanted to do. But I just need you to listen to me, okay?"

Jay nodded, an innocent look on his face.

"Just because someone does something on accident, doesn't mean they need to be forgiven. I get it if it's something stupid but if someone has actually hurt you... that's different. Not everything someone does can be forgiven. You have a kind heart, I know. It's one of the reasons why I fell in love with you but..." She sighed, "But what I did isn't something you can just forget about. I've left a physical scar on your body, Jay. I could never live knowing I did that to you. I could've killed you. That can't be forgiven. It may have been an accident but... what if it happens again?"

"You wouldn't hurt me again. And not on purpose," Jay replied.

"I know. But I can't risk it. You deserve to have a good life. You deserve someone who treats you better. And as long as I'm around, it won't happen. And it doesn't matter if it was an accident... I still broke the law, Jay. You should've told the police the truth," She told him.

"What are you gonna do?" Jay asked, worried.

She sighed, "I'm going to turn myself in."

"What?! No, you can't do that!" Jay exclaimed, "I-I'll tell them it's someone else! Just please don't tell them! You can't be locked up!"

"I have to, Jay. As much as I don't want to, it's the right thing to do," Nya replied.

"But... but you're a ninja! You need to protect the innocent! Ninjago needs you!" He told her, "need you..."

"That's exactly what I'm doing," She smiled a little, "I'm protecting you."

"No, no you're not," Jay's eyes filled with tears, "Please don't do this, Nya. I love you."

She thought for a moment before responding, "I know."

"Nya..." Jay cried.

Nya wandered over to Jay, leaned down and kissed him gently on the forehead.

"I'm sorry," She muttered.

She then gave him one last smile before leaving the room and leaving the crying Jay alone. His heart was broken but she was right. She couldn't be forgiven. He'd always love Nya. He'd never find anyone else like her. He may have lost her but he was lucky to have even been with her. And he still had the many memories of the two together. Maybe one day they would see each other again. Someday...
