Draco and I were sitting in Charms, taught by Professor Flitwick. He was telling us about the Cheering Charm, which created joy amongst a person. The charm was invented by Felix Summerbee between the mid-15th century and 1508. Pretty amazing right? I thought it was rather interesting. Charms has always been my favorite and my most excellent subject. After this class, we had to take one of our electives. Third years had to take two or more electives. I had chosen Care of Magical Creatures and Divination.
Draco and I have now came to a mutual agreement about last night's discourse, but I'm not sure he is pleased about the situation either. I have not spoken to Harry today due to fear of upsetting Draco. I do not approve of Draco bullying Harry and several other Gryffindors, but he is still my friend. We have been best friends long before coming to school here. I simply couldn't abandon him. I could only hope he would change as I am attempting to.
"I hoped you all learned something today. Class is dismissed," announced Professor Flitwick.
"What was your other elective?" I asked turning to Draco.
"Study of Ancient Ruins," replied Draco, "You?"
"Divination," I said sadly," But I'll see you after school."
"I guess so."
When me and Draco parted ways, I saw Hermione walking with some girl that had bright red hair, similar to Ron's hair.
"Hey Hermione!" I greeted her as I walked up behind her.
Both Hermione and the girl turned to meet my gaze.
"Hey Holly!" Hermione responded, then motioned her hands towards the red headed girl. "This is Ginny. She is Ron's sister if it wasn't already obvious."
"Hello," said Ginny, her voice soft. I presumed she was a little shy.
"Well we are going to Divination. What about you?" Hermione inquired.
I gasped. "Me too! I'm so glad we picked the same elective."
The three of us then began our walk towards the classroom.
"So what happened with you and Draco last night? Did he threaten you?" Hermione inquired, the worry clear in her voice.
"I told Ron to beat up Draco if he did anything to you," Ginny proudly added.
"That won't be necessary," I quickly stated. "He didn't hurt me. He was simply disappointed that I lied about going to my dorm instead of telling him I was going to the Gryffindor table."
"Well why did you lie? Is it because he doesn't like us?" Hermione asked.
I didn't have to say anything though. They already knew.
"Well, he can get over it. In fact, he shouldn't be so controlling over who you decide to befriend." Hermione declared.
"Here is my class. I will see you two later," Ginny said as she waved goodbye and exited into the classroom.
"She's not in our class?"
"No," Hermione answered. "She is only in her second year."
After what seemed like forever, Hermione and I reached the Divination classroom.
"Late on the first day, eh?" Professor Trelawney inquired as me and Hermione showed up late. "It's alright dears. You with the frizzy hair- sit over there. You with the bangs- over there."
Hermione appeared offended about the frizzy hair comment, but went over to where she was instructed to sit nonetheless. However, the professor instructed me to sit on the other side of the room and had pointed to the small, round table where Harry was sitting. He adjusted his glasses and looked from the clear, crystal ball in the center of the table to meet my eyes. Once I made eye contact, I noticed his eyes were a calm green color. His dark brown hair was pushed away from his face, revealing his lightening bolt scar on his forehead. He politely smiled as I sat down.
