Callie's POV
The next morning, we are all around the table eating Lena's famous pancakes. "I was thinking we should do something fun today"
"Like what, Love?" Stef asks her smiling.
"There's that festival down at the park today. I'm sure it would be a lot of fun!"
"Lexi and I have plans" Mariana groaned
"I wanted to go to the gym and get one last independent practice in before my wrestling match Tuesday" Jesus says whining.
Jude opened his mouth like he wanted to say something but then stopped before any noise came out of it
"Talya and I-" Brandon begun but was cut off by Stef.
"We haven't done anything as a family for as long as I can remember. Let's have this family time now and you can do all the stuff you wanted to do today, next weekend" Stef says firmly.
We all silently nod and I look around and see annoyed faces on Mariana and Jesus, but not Brandon. He almost looks relieved. Then he caught be staring and I quickly turn away.
"Now go on and get ready." Lena says, sending us all upstairs.
Mariana and Jesus race up the stairs to see who will get the bathroom first. Brandon casually trails behind them. After a door slamming and a lot of shouting, I finally conclude that Mariana got the bathroom first.
"Jude?" I called to him as we were walking up the stairs.
"Yeah?" He asks in concern.
"I just wanted to let you know that you don't have be afraid to talk in front of everyone. This is our family." I say with a gentle smile.
"I know Callie. But I don't want to say the wrong thing and have them rethink the adoption." He says with worry in his eyes.
"Jude, That would never happen! Stef and Lena, Brandon, Jesus, and Mariana, they all love us. Nothing could make them rethink that."
He looks at me with his big brown eyes glistening and then he silently walks up the stairs to his room.
