We Can Be Heroes (Wild Card x OC)

Chapter Three

Wheels put on the TV showing the news. "You know this is an epic Heroic smackdown event when they've called in Sharkboy!" The lady said as the lights dimmed in the room.

We cheered for Sharkboy. "Earlier today, Sharkboy appeared from the ocean depths, landing on the beach of South Padre Island." (they tried to be slick with that one)

"And moments later, Lavagirl blasted up from inside an active volcano. She's from the Earth's core ya know."

"Go Sharkboy and Lavagirl!" Guppy cheered for her parents.

"And here's Mayor Doolittle at today's ribbon cutting for his new city hall, rebuilt after the last time the Heroics went into action. Did you see that? Of course you didn't. That means it's none other than Blinding Fast, the fastest Heroic on the planet."

"Go, Dad!" Slo-Mo yelled.

"And here comes Crushing Low!"

"And there goes the mayor's new building in record time." We clapped for Facemakers Dad.

"These battles are insanely expensive for taxpayers, but so entertaining."

"Pass the popcorn. This battle's gonna be epic!" Wild Card said to Slo-Mo. And of course Slo-Mo went slow.

"This is unprecedented. All of the Heroics have been called into action against the alien threat."

Finally Wild Card was able to grab the popcorn from Slo-Mo. I ate some and he glared at me. I just stuck my tongue out at him.

He held out the popcorn for me to take some and I just scooted closer to him and ate some. I leaned my head on his shoulder as I looked up at the TV.

"We're getting some live footage now."

"And look who's back in action. It's Miracle Guy. You didn't except him to actually lose did you?"

I saw my Mom flying with the others using energy pulses to keep herself up. I wish I could control my powers like her.

Miracle Guy got punched by a ship and thrown at a building. "Oh my God!"

"No way! No one's ever taken down Miracle Guy!" Noodles said.

Sharkboy got hit and grabbed. Then Miracle Guy got grabbed by two ships. He tried flying up but they pinned him down.

"Oh no. I'm just getting some terrible news. It's almost unimaginable but two of our heroes have been captured by the intruders."

"I thought the Heroics were unbeatable." Guppy said.

"They are unbeatable. It's not over yet." Wheels said.

I was starting to get nervous. Wild Card could tell and kept a close eye on me.

"It looks like our heroes are fighting amongst themselves again."

It showed Rewind and Fast Forwards parents arguing then getting captured.

"Mom!" Rewind screamed.

"Dad!" Fast Forward yelled.

Then it showed Crushing Low. "Go, Dad!" Facemaker cheered.

Crushing Low threw two good hits but got captured. Rewind rewound the TV and Fast Forward skipped back to regular time.

"I want to see it again." He told her.

"And I don't want to see it again." She replied.

"And here comes Mrs. Vox to the rescue. She'll get those aliens singing a different tune."
