We Can Be Heroes (Wild Card x OC)

Chapter Ten

As we walked out I felt some one grab my arm. I looked up at Wild Card confused.

"Stay with Missy." He said quietly to me. Before I could even speak he interrupted. "Just stay with her okay?" I nodded.

"And promise me you'll at least try to use your powers." He said. I looked up at him hesitantly but nodded. "Good." He leaned down and kissed my head. My face had to be beet red.

"Wheels, how much time do we have?" Missy asked.

"Eighteen minutes."

"Well then we need to hurry if we want to stop the takeover."

"Us? Are you nuts? We have to go free our parents and let them handle it." Wild Card said.

"No! There's no time for that! By the time we get there, they-" She started.

"No! I'm through listening to you. When I woke up this morning, everything was perfect, and then you come along and everything's a mess. If Little Miss No-Powers is who you want as a leader, fine, follow her straight into Alienville."

I don't know where Wild Card is going with this but I guess it has something to do with me staying with Missy.

"But Facemaker and I are gonna go get our parents." He finished.

"We are?" Facemaker asked.

"Yes. Right now." He said dragging Facemaker away.

"Guys, we have to stick together. Guys!" She said calling out to them. She looked down at Ojo. "What can you do? Some people are just..."

"Forget him. We need to get to the rocket so I can stop it before it launches." Wheels said interrupting her.

"How are you so sure you can do that?" Missy asked.

"Because everything the aliens build is super intuitive to use, almost like it was designed for children to operate. Get me close. I'll turn it off." Wheels said.

So we headed off toward the rocket running hoping we would make it in time before the takeover started.

"That's it there!" Wheels said as we got in sight of the door.

"🎶We're gonna make it after all🎶" A Capella sang. It was very bad timing though because then guards came out of nowhere we all stopped running.

"Uh...no, we're not." Fast Forward said. We all started running back the other way away from them. Then the only exit shut and more guards came out.

"Uh...guys? What do we do now? Missy?" Rewind asked.

"Why do you seem so calm?" Noodles asked.

"Because we have something that they don't know about, a secret weapon." Missy told us.

"We do?" Wheels asked.

"Yeah. Teamwork! Alone, our powers are special, but together we're unstoppable! Slo-Mo, attack! A Capella, eardrums!"

"🎶ahhhhhh🎶" A Capella sang hurting the guards ears as Slo-Mo ran slowly at them.

"Rewind, take em' down!" Rewind cracked his knuckles and ran at them. He started punching guards.

"Guppy? Guppy?" Missy called looking for Guppy. A Capella joined the boys in fighting the guards.

Well Wild Card did want me to try and use my powers. "A Capella stand back!" I yelled to her.

She nodded and ran for the wall. I looked at the guards running at me. I took a breath. If I focus no one gets hurt but the bad guys.

I charged up and aimed at them. I shot a blast out and hit them. They went flying into the back wall.

"I did it!" I looked over at A Capella. "Are you okay?" I asked her. "My head hit the wall a bit but that was good Blast!" She said holding her head.

I sighed and gave up. I walked away back towards Wheels and Noodles. At least I can tell Wild Card I tried using my powers.

I looked over and Rewind was in trouble. He was screaming in one of the aliens arms.

"I'm coming Rewind!" I then got an idea. "Brace yourself!" I yelled. He nodded.

I ran up the wall and jumped behind the guard. I charged up one fist and punched the alien as I released the Blast.

Him and Rewind went flying forward. The hit the ground. "Rewind are you okay?" I asked. I saw his hand stick up in the air with a thumbs up.

"Everyone stand back!" Missy yelled.

Guppy came out growling. We all ran for the walls to get out of her way. She took guards down left and right. She was in a full blown Shark Frenzy.

Wheels rolled his chair to the middle of the hallway in front of the guards Guppy just took down.

"Noodles, chin-up bar!" He yelled.

Noodles gave him a chin-up bar. He did a handstand on Noodles while his chair was making noise. We all ran to the wall again.

"Go." He said. His chair sped off knocking down the guards like bowling pins. It came back and he sat back down. He and Noodles gave each other thumbs up.

"Great job, Wheels!" Missy told him as we ran up to them.

We looked back to see A Capella still fighting. "Go, A Capella!" Missy cheered.

A Capella was punching, kicking, and vocalizing at the same time it was incredible.

Then when one of the guards arms turned into a tentacle she screamed and ran away.

"Ew!" Missy said.

Then all the guards got up and they had tentacles. They came at us and brought shackles down and cuffed us.

We all struggled to break free. Rewind kept trying to get us out of it. "Rewind!" Missy yelled.

"I can't." He replied.

"We can do this." Fast Forward told him. "How?" He asked. "We work together. I'll help you." They both used their powers and rewound time.

"Noodles, get those shackles out of the ceiling!" Missy said. Noodles extended his arm up and grabbed the shackles.

"Now fast forward, quick!" Rewind said to Fast Forward. She fast forwarded the time.

The aliens reached up to grab the shackles but there were none. We laughed at them. When the came at us the shackles attached to them instead. We continued to laugh.

Then one of them smirked. "Uh-oh." A Capella said. He pulled keys out of his pocket.

"Again!" Fast Forward told Rewind.

The turned back time. This time when he went to pull the keys out Missy had them. "Looking for these?" She asked dangling them at him.

The guard slapped his fist down in anger. The twins high-fived as Missy walked up to them.

"Great job, Fast Forward. Excellent work, Rewind. Excellent work, Rewind. Excellent work, Rewind." Missy repeated.

"I just like hearing her say it." He said. We all rolled our eyes as Rewind continued to make her repeat it.

"Excellent work, Rewind. Excellent work, Rewind. Excellent work, Rewind. Excellent work, Rewind."

Finally he stopped. Thank God too cause that was getting so annoying. A Capella came up to me. "Blast you really didn't hurt me earlier, I promise. I'm fine."

Then Rewind came up. "Yeah and your blast punch saved me." He said.

"No it's okay A Capella. Rewind. I get it. I've heard it all before." I sighed. "I wish I had better control so I wouldn't hurt everyone but maybe that's all I'll ever get." I said.

They sighed as we all walked back to Missy. "All right let's go we have a world to save and we don't have much time."

We hopped over all the guards and headed for the door. It opened and we all ran in.
