We Can Be Heroes (Wild Card x OC)

Chapter Two

Everyone rushed to their seats to look productive. Cleaning up the messes and taking out their school stuff.

I looked over and saw that Slo-Mo was still trying to get back to his seat. It was obvious he wasn't going to make it in time.

So I got up, ran over to him, picked him up, and ran him to his seat. When I ran back to mine I saw Wild Card had got my school stuff ready.

"Thanks." I said to him quickly opening my laptop. "Don't mention it." He said back.

I stared at a random sentence on my screen pretending to read it and appear as if I was actually working.

The door opened and we all kept pretending to be well disciplined students not even daring to look up.

"Everyone, this is Missy." Ms. Granada said as we looked up. "She will be joining you today. Missy, I'd appreciate it if you would take a seat right there and quietly continue your studies along with the other children."

She went over and sat down next to Fast Forward. "Children...thank you all for respecting my rules. Your parents will be very proud when I tell them of your exceptional behavior. Well done."

She then turned around and walked out with the guard and shut the door. We all continued to stay quiet and pretend to work until the all clear was given.

Noodles extended his neck to the door and listened for a moment. "She's gone!" He whispered.

We all cheered and got up throwing our work in the air. Me and Wild Card grabbed our papers and threw them up to see them fall down like snow.

Everyone else was doing their own thing. A Capella was using her singing voice to fly. Facemaker and Noodles were playing games.

Rewind was climbing the rope. Fast Forward was setting up a game of chess. Slo-Mo was "running". And Guppy was messing with her powers. While Ojo was just drawing.

So basically it was just your average regular Tuesday in the stronghold aside from Missy but she seemed chill.

I looked over and saw the others were showing Missy their powers. Then we heard the speaker come on and an announcement start.

"Miss A Capella Vox, would you please refrain from using your high voice. Every dog in the neighborhood has surrounded our building." Ms. Granada said.

They laughed at the announcement. Then A Capella started singing low making chairs float. Facemaker climbed on top of the chairs and flexed. He jumped on the table and A Capella stopped singing making them fall.

I looked over at Wild Card and watched him try and move his physics book. He was actually doing really good the book was actually moving a little bit.

"See I told you you'd do it." I said bumping his shoulder.

"Shut up." He laughed.

"Don't hate me for always being right." I said putting my arms up in surrender.

I heard a crash and looked over and saw that Noodles has gotten mad at Facemaker and broke the table.

"Oh, dude. Rewind, clean up on aisle two." Wheels said.

Rewind walked up and turned back the clock. Then A Capella and him grabbed the table and moved it as Facemaker replaced it with an exercise ball.

Noodles popped it and sent Facemaker flying across the room. Me and Wild Card watched him as he caught the rope just in time before he hit the wall.

"Facemaker got real lucky." I said laughing.

"That's Blast." Wheels said rolling up to me and Wild Card. "She can blast seriously powerful energy waves. Hence the nickname."

"Cool. Can I see?" She asked.

I froze. "She doesn't use her powers." Wild Card told her strictly.

"She can't control them very well. After she accidentally hurt her Dad she stopped using them. She now tries to contain them." Wheels explained to her.

"Sorry." I said to her. "No it's totally okay." She replied.

"And then, there's our fearless leader Wild Card. He and Blast have been best friends since they were little kids which is why he is so protective. There's not a single power in the world he doesn't have." Wheels said.

"True." Wild Card said. I rolled my eyes trying to hold back a laugh.

"Sure, he has every power imaginable, but since he can't focus his energy, they show up randomly." Facemaker said coming up next to Wild Card.

"Also true, until now that is. Teleport!" He yelled at his physics book. It bounced up and caught on fire.

Guppy came to the rescue with a fire truck made out of water she had it fall on the fire to put it out. Wild Card crossed his arms in disappointment pouting. I rubbed his shoulder.

"It's okay Wild, you'll get it next time I just know it." He rolled his eyes at me and got up.

He grabbed my hand and made me get up and walk with him to Missy. "So, new girl, what's your superpower?" He asked.

"Yeah, uh, so with the whole powers thing-"

"Wait a second. I remember you. You're Marcus Moreno's kid." Facemaker said pointing at her.

"Yeah, my Dad hasn't gone on any missions for a while, so I've been chilling with the normal kids."

"Why would the put a kid with superpowers in with the normal kids? Oh, I get it. You don't have any powers." I glared at Wild Card for his rudeness. He shrugged at me.

"You're powerless?" Wheels asked in disbelief.

"Whatever. Can we put on the TV? I want to see if there's any news about our parents." She said. We all headed back to our seats.
