It's my first day at Hamon Highschool. I'm absolutely excited to have this job as a 12th grade teacher. Although, I'm a bit nervous to introduce myself to the students.
The principal guided me to classroom 301. "You will be teaching this class from now on," he announced before opening the door.
"They are all wonderful students...but there's one particular student that needs more discipline. Can you handle that?"
I shook my head in confidence. "Yes sir. Um...what's the students name?" He pulled out a student file and pointed to a picture of a melanated, curly-haired student.
"Sora Simmons. Late to class everyday, disrespectful to teachers. always getting into fights, poor grades. That's him."
As a new teacher, I've only dealt with a few troubled students, so this might be a challenge. "Okay, I'll deal with him."
He gave me an 'are you sure?' face. "This could be a difficult process...but we'll give it a try. I trust you."
He opens the door. The classroom was filled with loud, energetic teenagers.
