The football field was hoarded with student graduates, dressed down with their gowns along with a cap.
I stood right next to principal Harry wearing my women's suit, looking presentable as possible.
He will be announcing in about 2 minutes. Ugh, why am I shaking? I'm not the one who's about to graduate...
The principal clears his throat and grabs the mic.
"Okay, fellow graduates, for those of you who are still entering the auditorium, please find your seats and settle down..."
I scanned the crowd looking for Sora as he was speaking. I can't see him. Is he even here?
"First I would like to congratulate you for surviving through your years of highschool! It was quite the obstacle, but look at you all now!"
The graduates chuckle at his joke, meanwhile I was too busy searching for Sora in the crowd.
"...and now we are here today, this is the checkpoint of your life as youth. The chance of setting examples for the younger generation. I am proud of each and every one of you for being here. Congrats!"
Everyone applauded and chanted at his short, inspirational message.
I had a bit of a delay with my clapping due to my focus search for Sora. Don't tell me he's late for his own graduation...
Minutes Later
After a few more long quotes, it was almost time for the graduates to get called up and receive their diploma.
One of the teachers class stands up and forms a line on the stage.
And then here comes Jared, looking cocky as ever in his cap and gown, giving me a brave smirk.
"Well if it isn't Miss hourglass," he whispered with open arms.
"Yeah, yeah." I rolled my eyes at him and went in for a hug. "Oh, Jared! About Sora..."
"Before you ask...I have no idea where he is either," he claimed. "I haven't seen him at all actually."
I pulled out of his hug. "You're kidding. Don't tell me he changed his mind and decided to snooze in bed."
He shrugs. "Don't know. But Imma see you, teach." I sigh and wave. There's no way he actually skipped. It can't be.
Fast Forward...
After each senior teacher takes turns calling up their class, I'm the last to go.
"Miss Y/n's class, please step up next in line."
I watched as my beautiful graduates stood up approaching the stage, but I have yet to spot Sora anywhere...
The principal begins to call student names for get their diploma.
"Alexia...Casey...Benton...Shy...Julio..."
I hug and congratulate each of them as they walk to me. "So proud of you. Good luck in college!"
"Jason...Darius...Abigail...Brianna...and last would be up is Sora Simmons, which is not attending his graduation?"
The crowd remains quiet and looks around in confusion. Where the hell is this man?
"Last call for Sora Simmons to come up for his diploma? I'll give him a minute."
He's nowhere in sight?! I swear, Sora, if I don't see you on this damn stage right now...
