"Ms. Y/n? Are you awake?" says a female voice. "You think she's dead?" says another.
I slowly revived my consciousness and start moving my legs. "Shh...she's waking up."
My vision sharpens and I see two female seniors from each end of the bed.
"Hi, Ms. Y/n," they greeted. Am I...in the nurses room? It's hard to remember what happened. "What's...going on?"
"You blacked out before class started," they replied. "The principal told us to take you to the nurse to rest."
Dammit, I can remember it clearly now. Sora and Jared had a little play date in my guts.
The nurse opens the curtains with bottles of water. "Awake now, I see. Girls, you may head back to class."
"Yes ma'am!" The girls left the room alone with me and the nurse. She hands me a cold bottle of water.
"I'm sure the girls already told you about what happened. Is everything alright?"
"Yes, I'm okay...just a bit lightheaded." I slowly sat up.
"As expected," she commented. "I think the reason why you passed out is either lack of calories or iron deficiency."
Iron deficiency...yeah...let's go with that. I held in my laugh.
"The principal wrote you a letter. Here." She hands me a folded piece of paper. I opened and read the letter.
Dear, Ms. Y/n
I owe you an apology for these terrible students overworking you. I've already given them a lecture about their misbehavior. I'm giving you permission to take the day off. Don't worry about teaching today, I've already sent a substitute to do the business. Please take care!
~Principal Harry
Hmm...a day off, huh? I folded the paper back up.
The nurse smiled. "Lucky you! Enjoy your day off and don't forget to rest!"
"Huh? Oh, thank you." I got up and stretched my legs. Fúck, I'm still sore.
"What's the matter?" The nurse noticed my shakey legs. I shook it off. "Nothing, haha. See you." I quickly walked out.
The next week
"Okay, guys, we're not doing much today. Please take out your textbooks and do pages 66-70."
It's getting warmer outside. I slid open the classroom window feeling the warm sun beaming on my skin.
Damn, I was not expecting to pass out that day. But was I really not expecting was the fact that the principal let me get away with it. I must be his favorite.
I needed that day off. I feel so refreshed, I don't even need coffee.
I check attendance. Looks like everyone is here except...Sora? Don't tell me he skipped today.
"Has anybody seen Sora Simmons today?" The students shrugged. "Hm, that's odd..."
Cough. I hear a cough at the entrance door. Sora appears with a beanie covering his eyes.
"Morning you," I greeted. "Heeeyyyyy waaasup, tea- cough teacher." The other students looked at him in confusion.
"Uh, okay?" I laughed awkwardly. "And where's your late pass?"
"Uhhh...somewhere," he bumps into a wall. "Okay? Can you find it for me so I can see it?"
"Cough, ion know where it is. I think it ran away from me, haha." He made the class giggle.
He's acting unusual today "Sora, remove the beanie away from your eyes and speak correctly."
He walks up and latches onto me. "Can I get a kiss, teacher?" He sticks his tongue out.
Is he insane?! In front of the damn class?!
I pull him off of me instantly. "Not very appropriate, Mr. Simmons. Sit down please."
"Pff, aight then," he kept the beanie over his eyes and went to his desk. What the hell is going on with him?
