The Last Week of School • 6:20am
My heart is beating like crazy. I can't stop thinking about whether or not Sora passed his exams. Stop being anxious, Y/n.
A teacher tapped my shoulder. "Is everything alright, Miss Y/n?" Dammit, I'm so nervous I forgot I was in a meeting.
I snapped out of my internal panic attack. "Yes, I'm fine. Just hoping that my students have passed, haha."
She smiles. "Ah, I understand. Don't worry! I'm sure the majority has aced all their exams. They're very smart kids."
"You got that one right." She's not wrong. Sora and I are perfect teammates. We studied everything, so I shouldn't be this nervous...right?
The counselor collects the paper from the printer. "The exam results are successfully completed."
'Ugh, thank Jesus,' I praised in my head. He passed around the stacks to each teacher. "Please confirm your signature at the bottom of your student's paper."
I took a long deep breath and flip through the pages to find my class. Wilson, Chimes, Ryan, and...my class!
Not to be a teacher with favoritism, but I just have to see Sora's first. I scanned for Sora's results. FOUND HIM! Okay...
Student: Sora Jade Simmons
Algebra - 395 - passed!
Ecology - 330 - passed!
History - 371 - passed!
English - 355 - passed!"AHHH YES!" I jump out of my desk and cheered. "Yes, Sora, yes! You did it, Sora! You...oops."
I noticed the other teachers looking at me like a crazy person. "Just...Sora, Miss Y/n?"
I cleared my throat and corrected myself. "As well as...Sarah, Jason, and Adrian! Yeah! Happy for all of them, of course."
They chuckle at me. "Well, somebody's happy for their students, haha!"
"Haha, yep!" I laughed and sat back in my chair, continuing my signing.
I'm so fricking happy! Sora actually passed his exams. When I see him, I'm gonna give him a huge hug. I'm so proud of this man!
6:59
The time hits 7 o'clock. The counselor stands up. "That'll be the end of this meeting. Good work, teachers."
Me and the other teachers exit the meeting room. My first action was finding Sora. The better not be late today.
The classroom's empty right now, so I sit patiently with papers in my hands. It's going to be a wonderful moment for the both of us!
Speaking of him, he appears behind me and wraps his arms around me a little too close to my breast. "Teacherrrr," he yawns with a raspy voice.
My eyes brighten up as soon as I hear his voice. "Ah, Sora! I've been thinking about you all morning!"
"I've been thinking about you too, but not in a family friendly way," he scoffs in subduction.
"Nows not the time for that, silly. So how did last week treat you, hm?"
"Like shït." He takes another big yawn.
I would've expected him to say that. "Exhausted, I see. Exams drained you out?"
"I'm not even joking. They made us sit for 2 hours. And we were all finished except for this one stupid āss holding the class back. I wanted to beat the shít out of him."
I scoffed sheepishly. "Poor thing. Luckily for you, it was all worth it."
"Pfft, no the hell it wasn't. You know how badly I wanted to walk out? It's like..." he paused and looked at me. "Why you smiling so hard?"
"Me? I'm not smiling," I said holding in my suspicious laughter.
"Yeah, you're...definitely smiling, teach." He looks at the papers I'm holding. "No way. Are those the exam results?"
I evened up the papers. "Oh these? Yeah, just stacking them up. You wanna see yours?"
"Hol' up, I get to see them early?" He leans towards my direction for a peek.
"Everyone should get their results in the mail on the weekend, so don't tell anyone I showed them to you."
"I won't, teach." Sora takes the paper and views each of his class exam results.
I waited for that whoosh of happiness to burst out of him.
"Bro, I fùcking passed!?"
"Yesss! Congrats to you!" I stood up from my chair and gave him a big hug.
"Haha, but...how?" He had a mixer of excitement and confusion.
"What you mean 'but how'?" I giggled. "You thought all that tutoring wasn't worth it?"
"Yeah..." He stared at his paper and sighs.
His reaction seems a bit concerning. "What's that look for? Aren't you happy with your results?"
"I mean...I am happy. It's just...hm." He hands me back the paper.
"Oh. You're still upset about..." I exhale. "Listen, Sora..."
"No, it's fine," he reassured. "It was a promise, right? I'll be okay."
I gave him an empathic smile. "Of course you will. I know you won't let these things break you down.
"Nah, you know me already," he chuckles. "I better see you at graduation."
"I wouldn't miss it for the world," I promised. He brings me to his arms and hugs me tight again.
"Awww, sooo cute!" Jared says at the door. Yup, I wonder how long he's been standing there...
"Get the fūck out," Sora tells him releasing me.
He chuckles. "Why? I don't wanna miss y'all's cute lil moment."
"I believe our 'cute lil moment' is ruined now, but thank you for the encore."
Sigh.
