No War - Divergent

It's not even a day later when I see Marlene, Uriah and Rosa. Uriah is bobing Rosa up and down. Marlene is grinning at the two of them, with her hands firmly placed on her stomach. I want another one. But do I?

I get back to our apartment, Tamra is at school, Tobias at work and I come in with Tobie. I bob Tobie up and down, making him squeal in excitement. I chuckle.

"Mamma!" He shouts making me laugh harder.

"Tobie, come on let's go change you. You smelly little Dauntless." I say smirking. Tobie gurgles and I put him on the changing table. I unravel his all in one and change his smelly nappy. He giggles a lot throughout as if he pooped on purpose.

"Mamma! Want-" He gets fed up of talking and points to his musged up food cupboard. I sigh. He eats  so  much.

"Okay." I say. I take him with me, dangling on my hip. I feed him with a rubber spoon. And he claps his hands together every time he finishes a spoonful.

Once he's finished I sit him on the counter and clap with him. He claps along with me, both of us at the same time.

"That's it!" I say whilst pumping my fists into the air. Tobie joins in with me, crunching his tiny fists up and throwing them about in the air. "Horray!" I say.

"Horray!" Tobie copies. He's into copying a lot today. Which is good...up until he copies something he shouldn't...

I pick Tamra up a bit earlier than Tobias comes home, so us three have time to kill. I take Tobie and Tamra to the café and we eat cake with Christina and Mia. Mia and Tobie are muttering jibberish to each other.

"Brrr...Mia!" Tobie squeals.

"Tobie! Look!" Mia shrieks, clutching to Tobie's hand. Mia points across to the chasm and me and Christina exchange a look of confusion. We turn to the chasm. Then we see it. Molly is dangling over the chasm. If I were sefish enough, I'd leave her. Let her die because of all she caused me but I can't. I gently push Tamra to Christina and let Tobie continue sitting next to Mia. I run. I sprint.

When I reach her, she's dangling by four fingers. I know I can't help her much but I can try. I grab her arm, with both of my hands. Her arm is double one of mine. I yank her up as hard as I can. It doesn't do much but I manage to help her put her elbow over the thin line of fencing. I try to grab her sides to help her up but ny foot slips from under me and I'm hanging over Molly. I pull myself back over the fence and try pulling Molly again. Why is no one helping? There are hundreds of people surrounding us know yet nobody wants to help. Is this a test on me? To see if I'm really  fit to help her? 

"Tris!" I hear someone yell. Tobias. I turn to see him pushing past people in the crowd. He reaches me and without saying a word he helps me pull Molly up. Molly comes up gasping and flops to the floor. One word.

"Peter." She says. My face fills with fury. What could Molly ever do to Peter? Tobias looks at me, confused and exasperated. I pant and Molly thanks me. "Thank you..." She says short of breath. "Thank-"

"Shush." I say quietly. "It's okay." A few people crowd around her and I go to sit back down with Christina, Tobie, Mia and Tamra. Tobias follows.

"What happened?" He asks as we sit down.

"Mia spotted her." I say pointing at Mia.

"Well done." Tobias says smirking at Mia. Tobie claps and Christina smiles.

"I didn't think she'd ever be able to spot anything like that out, she spotted a fly in the apartment the other day. The little Eagle eyed..." Christina says.

"Well done, Tris." Tobias says his lips pressed to my ear. I smile. He kisses my cheek and stays with me. "I may as well stay off work..."

"Good." I say. I just saved a life. I never thought I'd see Molly as innocent. The Molly that said I 'have a birthmark on my buttcheek'. I don't. I never thought I'd never to save her - the tank. But everyone needs saving once in a while. Including myself and Tobias.
