A black tom with white paws padded through the star filled forest. He stopped as he saw a gathering of cats and sat down. He looked around and many starry furred cats were here to attend the gathering that Firestar had called. The ginger tom jumped onto the Great Rock. He looked out at the small gathering that had attended and took a deep breath.
"Cats of Starclan I am here to tell the great prophecy that will affect all five clans!" He announced, voice steady and sure not revealing the anxiety in his eyes. He looked at his former mentor and her blue eyes showed worry, but urged him to stay strong.
Cats gasped and shrieked around the Great Rock, the great prophecy had been shielded even before Firestar had been introduced to the forest.
"Firestar!" Bluestar called out. "How can you be so sure?"
"I have seen the fate of four cats unravel and I have decided that the great prophecy is to be fulfilled!" He yowled.
An unknown cat stepped forward from the ranks of Starclan.
"Who are you newcomer?" Firestar asked the cat.
"The Forteller of Prophecies," the cat whispered in a low voice. "Shadow, Light, Fire, and Ice. Ice and Light, Shadow and Fire. Before they come together the forest shall fall. Shadows will fall and shall set the forest ablaze. Ice shall cool the blaze. And the light will cast out the darkness.
With that the cat vanished into starlight and left the ranks of Starclan in awe.
"The Foreteller of Prophecies has spoken!" Firestar addressed.
"For it is time for the prophecy to be revealed!" Tallstar yowled.
All the cats dispersed and left the gathering place of Starclan all except six.
"Firestar who are the cats of prophecy?" Lionblaze asked.
"Should we know?" Crookedstar asked.
"I have seen their fates, but we need to warn them," Firestar warned.
"Are you sure?" Dovewing murmured.
"Dovewing silence," Bluestar snapped and the gray and white she-cat fell silent.
"Jayfeather, Dovewing, and Lionblaze shall deliver the prophecy to the four cats," Firestar meowed.
"Who will deliver the fourth message?" Raggedstar questioned.
"I think I know someone who will," Bluestar meowed.
"Then so be it," Firestar meowed. "The time of the greatest prophecy has begun."
A/N: How did you guys like it? This is probably the best prologue I have ever written. Anyway, 3 plus votes for the next chapter on Friday, if not I'll post it on Sunday.
