I shoot up in excitement. I look at the clock and see the time. 3:45 am. I grin. Today is the day! I grab my flashlight and turn it on while rummaging for the mirror and bandages. I find them and grab my belt too. I set everything up and carefully start to bandage the void that was my eye. I lift my hair and grab the bobby pins.
I slide them through my bandages and my hair. I grip the loose bands as I grab the decorative blue medical tape-bands and tighten it as I pull them all into a small ponytail. I let go of my hair and it falls down around the ponytail, hiding it and making my hair seem even floofier. I get up and grab everything I need.
I put on a simple sweatshirt and pants, and stuff the clothes I'll wear during the exam into a duffel bag, along with a pack of gummies and a knife. I put on my utility belt, which I wear everywhere, and grab my staff, which also works as a blind stick since I can't see on my right. I look around to see if I need anything else. I look at the bed and smile. "Let's go." I turn, trying not to think about what was under the bed.
I get out of the rubble and stop. I forgot the file! I panic then remember I had Burn return it back to the police station. I head to the place I work, 'No Home's land'. It's a weird name, but it's known by all homeless people as a safe place. I open the door and see Naoko up and talking to some of the older regulars. Naoko looked up as I entered. "Look here, Deku's going to the entrance exam!" I shake my head.
"Got to get in first, old man." Naoko laughed. "Just do your best kid. Here, it's on the house." He passes me breakfast. I take out my knife and stab the bacon. The old man laughed. "You have to be extra?" One of the regulars asked. I nod. "Knives don't do shit against robots, Klark." I say, eating the bacon. "Yes they do. Cut the wires." I shrug. "Fuck you." Everyone laughs.
Someone walks down the steps and I flinch. "Yo, Eyeball. Don't see you here often." The burned man slid down next to me. I wave him off. He's my informant, occasionally talked to person, but we don't even call each other by our street nicknames for an extra measure of privacy. "Today's the day, eh? Going to be one of the big boy heroes?" I roll my eye. "Oh shut it."
He laughs a rough scratchy sound from the near destruction of his throat. "I'm going to fix the hero society the right way that doesn't involve murder." Burns chuckles. "Still mad about Stain hitting the place?" I growl and wave my knife around with a piece of pancake still attached. "Look, I don't disagree with his logic, but arrest them! Don't kill them, and besides, he nearly killed Naoko."
Burns sighs. "Yeah, but you and the old man scolded him good for that." I shake my head. "If I see him again, I won't hesitate to hit him." Naoko butts in. "Kid, you should get going. It's a long way to U.A." I nod and get up. Everyone gave me good wishes. "Oh and Burns, if you aren't gone by the time I'm back, I'm training with you!" Burns groans as I leave the house.
I fix up myself, and leave the train station. I tap along the right side toward my way. If I trip, it's game over. I make it to U.A. and gasp in awe. It was amazing. Even with one eye, I could see that it was...breathtaking. I walked in and moved my staff, but I tripped. I tried to move my staff to stop me, but I was saved.
I turn and see a girl with brown hair holding her fingers together. "I'm sorry! You were going to fall and I just had to help you. It's my quirk. Are you okay?" I nod as she deactivated her quirk. I grasp my staff and bow. "Thank you." She smiles. "No problem. I hope your eye gets better." She says before leaving.
I laugh. Too late for that. I walk in and find my testing room. I quickly took a seat near the back and waited. Soon, the test was handed out. I finished it quickly, filling in everything I knew from all that time in the library. After the test, Everyone was herded into the auditorium. I sat there, until a loud voice shot through the stadium.
I flinched hard. Sudden loud voices scared me. It reminded me of them... I zoned back in as the announcer, Present Mic talked about the robots. 'Yeah yeah, I know..' I mutter. Someone shoots up, yelling, and I flinch again. "You there! Stop muttering and pay attention, you're distracting the others, and SIR! There are four robots, but you only mentioned three!" Present Mic starts talking again, but I just get my stuff ready to go.
I'm in my outfit for the exam. Ok. "GO!" I charge, hitting my staff on one of the robots. It crumpled somewhat. I pull out a hammer from my belt and smash it into the necks. I ran trying to find another robot when I heard a scream. The zero-pointer was out. I saw the girl who had saved me earlier was trapped. I rushed over and asked, "Are you okay?!" She nods. "I'm stuck!" I stick my staff in between the rocks, lifting them up a bit, but it was enough to get her out.
"Thank you!" I nod and look over to the giant robot. "I have an idea on how to get it to stop, but I need your help." She looks confused. "Really?" I nod. "You have a floating quirk, right?" She nods. "Use it on me, and when I get to it's neck I'll activate my EMP." She nods, touching my hand, causing me to float. I got close to the robot when the quirk ran out. I landed on the shoulder.
It was ending fast. I pulled out my EMP and placed it on the neck. I activated it and the monster robot collapsed. As I was falling, I knew this was enough.
